Being criticized bluntly by the coach, Cong Phuong revealed an uncertain future in Belgium
The head coach of Sint-Truiden Club made his first public assessment of Nguyen Cong Phuong, in a press conference before round 5 of the Belgian national championship.
When asked about the Vietnamese player, Coach Brys laughed twice and said: "Cong Phuong is a lovely guy. He is agile, has speed and always plays directly. However, Cong Phuong is still weak in tactics. He has not adapted to the tactical system that I am applying. Cong Phuong also needs to be wiser, knowing when to or not to overcome his opponent."

Mr. Brys has included Cong Phuong's name in the list of players registered to play against Zulte-Waregem on the evening of August 24 (local time). The Vietnamese football star is one of six midfielders who can enter the field, along with Samuel Asamoah, Alexandre De Bruyn, Stan Van Dessel, Mathieu Troonbeeckx and Hamza Massoudi.
Last weekend, Cong Phuong was also on the registration list, but did not play. At that time, Sint-Truiden lost 0-2 away to Antwerp.
Cong Phuong's position at Sint-Truiden is under threat, as the club has just recruited winger Tatsuya Ito from Hamburg. Ito is only 1m63 tall but is highly regarded for his speed and technique. Coach Brys has not registered Ito for the match against Zulte-Waregem.
