Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy visits and wishes a happy new year in Quy Hop district
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 29, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation visited and wished the people of Quy Hop district a Happy New Year at Tam Hop commune.

Accompanying the delegation were comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Dinh Hung - Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Vi Van Son - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, etc.

On the occasion of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, on behalf of the provincial working delegation, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy sent his warmest regards and best wishes to the officers, soldiers of the armed forces, and people of Quy Hop district.

Implementing the policies of the Party and State, continuing the tradition of mutual love and affection of the nation, in recent times, along with socio-economic development, the province has paid great attention and care to policy families, families with revolutionary contributions, the poor, and the disadvantaged in society.

Many activities and programs took place very meaningfully and humanely, among which the organization of Tet for the poor - considered a beautiful cultural feature of Nghe people, has been implemented since 2013 until now.
This year, the Tet For The Poor program held on January 21st called on the whole community to contribute over 141 billion VND to provide the poor, poor households, and near-poor households with practical and meaningful gifts.



Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy assessed: Quy Hop has made great efforts to organize Tet For The Poor activities, calling for nearly 4 billion VND to take care of the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and families with meritorious services...
Besides, the district also effectively and responsibly participates in the program of mobilizing and supporting the construction of houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties, which is widely implemented by the province.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy also expressed his joy, acknowledged and commended the socio-economic results and ensured national defense and security in Quy Hop district over the past year.
Accordingly, 20/23 targets were achieved and exceeded; budget revenue reached 278.9 billion VND... Another good news is that the economic structure in the district has shifted very positively; a mountainous district with a high proportion of industry, construction and trade, a quite vibrant market...
The district also pays attention to new rural construction, with 6 communes reaching the finish line; 23 OCOP products meeting 3-star standards... The education and health sectors are being taken care of. These achievements contribute positively to the province's overall achievements in 2023.

Comrade Thai Thanh Quy emphasized that 2024 is forecasted to have many difficulties, therefore, from the province to the grassroots level, it is necessary to focus on implementing socio-economic development tasks and ensuring national defense and security.
Quy Hop district must truly unite, continue to make more efforts to well implement the set goals and tasks; unify the viewpoint of protecting resources and the environment for sustainable development; care for, create livelihoods, and increase income for people, especially poor and near-poor households.

Along with that, continue to care for and invest with focus in the fields of health and education; the military and police forces must always grasp and analyze the situation correctly, promptly advise the Party Committee and the government to resolve issues related to national defense and security in the area, avoiding being passive and surprised in all situations. The Provincial Party Secretary also noted the need to thoroughly resolve disputes in the area, avoiding them becoming hot spots.
Poor households also need to proactively strive to improve their lives to escape poverty and have conditions for their children to study.
As the traditional Tet holiday of the nation approaches, comrade Thai Thanh Quy requested local authorities to pay attention to ensuring a safe, joyful, economical and healthy Tet for the people, ensuring that goods reach remote areas to meet people's needs.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary presented Quy Hop district with 500 million VND to support the poor in the district to celebrate Tet and directly presented 100 gifts to the poor, including 1 million VND in cash and gift bags worth 200,000 VND/gift; and supported the construction of 10 solidarity houses with a total amount of 500 million VND.

The Provincial Party Secretary presented gifts and New Year wishes to the Quy Hop District Police, Tam Hop Commune Police, Quy Hop District Military Command, Tam Hop Commune Military Command and Tam Hop Commune Party Committee.
Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and the delegation also personally came to present gifts and New Year wishes to the family of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dieu (born in 1952), currently residing in Van Tien hamlet, Tam Hop commune, a 1/4 war invalid, a 40-year Party member, and his wife, Mrs. Tran Thi Xinh (born in 1959, a former youth volunteer). Mr. Dieu was born into a family with a revolutionary tradition, his father was a soldier who participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.

He himself participated in the anti-American war to save the country, was a 1/4 disabled veteran; was awarded the Third Class Resistance Medal; First Class Feat of Arms Medal; Third Class Glory Medal by the Party and State. He and his wife have 5 grown-up daughters. Currently, his health is weak due to the frequent recurrence of his injuries.
