Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy visited and worked with leaders of Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 13, during the working program in Laos, the high-ranking delegation of Nghe An province came to work with the leaders of Vientiane Capital, Laos.
The working delegation led by comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation to greet comrade Anuphap Tunalom - Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Region I, Vientiane Capital and comrade Assaphanthoong Siphandon - Member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Mayor of Vientiane Capital.
The delegation included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Duc Cuong - Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee, Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Propaganda Committee; members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Dinh Hung - Chief of the Provincial Party Office, Pham Hong Quang - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Trinh Thanh Hai - Director of the Department of Finance, Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command. Also attending were comrade Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and representatives of the Department of Tourism.
Vientiane, the capital, has an area of 3,920 km², the only centrally-governed city in Laos, with a population of about 1.5 million people. This is the political, economic and cultural center of Laos.
At the meetings with the Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Region I, Vientiane Capital and Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Mayor of Vientiane Capital, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy sincerely thanked the thoughtful and warm reception of the leaders of Vientiane Capital to the working delegation; at the same time, exchanged and informed about the socio-economic situation of the province in 2022 and the first 6 months of 2023; congratulated the development of Vientiane Capital.
On the basis of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy proposed that Nghe An province and Vientiane Capital sign a cooperation program to promote the relationship between the two localities in many fields, especially in tourism, education, health care, urban construction;... This is also the wish of the leaders of the Lao Party and State at the previous meeting with the high-ranking delegation of Nghe An province.
Comrade Anuphap Tunalom - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Region I, Vientiane Capital and Comrade Assaphanthoong Siphandon - Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Mayor of Vientiane Capital at the meetings expressed their joy at welcoming Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy and the high-ranking delegation of the province to visit and highly agreed with Comrade Thai Thanh Quy's proposal to sign a cooperation program between the two sides.
The leaders of Vientiane Capital wish to cooperate with Nghe An - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh in many fields, especially in economics, services, agriculture, tourism; Party building, government and many other fields.
On that basis, the leaders of the two localities agreed to assign a focal point to connect the draft contents to be submitted to the leaders of the two sides for agreement and possibly signing at the Conference of the two countries' Politburoes at the end of this year.
The leaders of the capital Vientiane also agreed with the proposal of comrade Thai Thanh Quy on promoting the early commencement of construction of the expressway connecting Vientiane with Hanoi, with the route passing through the Nam On border gate (Bo Ly Kham Xay) and Thanh Thuy (Nghe An).
