Wanted for selling children to China, girl arrested after 10 years on the run
After 10 years of being wanted for "Human trafficking, child trafficking", the 29-year-old girl was just arrested while hiding in Ha Long City (Quang Ninh).
On the afternoon of May 11, Quang Nam Provincial Police transferred the wanted subject Po Loong Thao (born in 1996, residing in Ta Bhing commune, Nam Giang district, Quang Nam) from Quang Ninh to the locality to continue investigating and handling the crime of "Human trafficking, child trafficking".
Previously, in 2013, Thao lured 3 victims (including 2 children) in Nam Giang district to China, earning 30 million VND.
On July 14, 2014, the Quang Nam Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute the suspect. However, the girl fled the area.
On July 27, 2014, Quang Nam Police issued a nationwide wanted notice for Po Loong Thao for the crime of "Human trafficking, child trafficking".
After a long period of verification, detectives discovered that Thao had changed her personal information and appearance to avoid capture.
By noon on May 9, Quang Nam Provincial Police coordinated with Quang Ninh Provincial Police to successfully arrest Thao while he was hiding in Bai Muoi area (Cao Thang ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh).
