"I don't think I've seen anything that specifically indicates an intention to help President Trump win the election," Politico quoted Ms. Nielsen as saying.
Previously, US intelligence accused Russia of interfering in the election, although the agency also confirmed that it found no evidence that this interference affected the voting results.Moscow has repeatedly denied such allegations, with the Russian President's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, calling such accusations "completely baseless."
On May 22, the heads of the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence informed Congress about measures to protect America's election infrastructure.
