(Baonghean.vn) - On March 31, under the chairmanship of Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Military Party Committee, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command; Nghe An Provincial Military Command held a conference to hand over the duties and responsibilities of the Battalion Commander, the Mat Island Mixed Battalion.

Also attending the conference were leaders of departments and offices of the Provincial Military Command and officers and staff of the Mat Island Mixed Battalion.

Previously, the working groupProvincial Military Commandoffered incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs at the Martyrs' Memorial on the island; inspected the construction of combat facilities, working houses, and housing for officers, employees, and soldiers on the island; combat readiness training and comprehensive inspection on 4 aspects of work: Staff, Politics, Logistics, and Engineering.

According to the decisions of the Military Region 4 Command on personnel work: Comrade Major Tran Le Phuc - Battalion Commander, Island Eye Mixed Battalion now holds the position of Chief of Artillery, General Staff Office, Provincial Military Command; Comrade Captain Dau Van Long - Deputy Battalion Commander, Island Eye Mixed Battalion now holds the position of Battalion Commander, Island Eye Mixed Battalion.

Speaking at the conference, Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command acknowledged and highly appreciated the dedication and contributions of two comrades: Major Tran Le Phuc and Captain Dau Van Long. Regardless of their positions, they have all excellently completed all assigned tasks. Hopefully, in their new positions, they will always promote the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and excellently complete all assigned tasks.

Mat Island has an extremely important strategic position on the Nghe An sea route as well as Military Region 4. It is considered the eye of the sea, guarding the sea and sky of the Fatherland day and night. During 60 years of construction, fighting and growing up, generations of officers and soldiers of Mat Island have been brave, resilient, united, creative, overcoming difficulties to excellently complete all tasks. The Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff requested that officers and soldiers of Mat Island promote the heroic tradition, continue to thoroughly grasp the instructions of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region Command, and Provincial Military Command.

Improve combat training, Party activities, and political work. Strengthen inspection and supervision in the construction of combat facilities, offices, and houses; strictly maintain combat readiness and guard posts; closely coordinate with forces at sea to protect aquatic resources, rescue fishing boats and ships in distress at sea. Proactively overcome all difficulties, improve the lives of soldiers, officers, and soldiers, always identify their tasks well and build increasingly strong units, successfully completing all assigned tasks.
