Nghe An Provincial Military Command gives Tet gifts to poor households in Nam Giai border commune
(Baonghean.vn) - On January 20 and 21, a working delegation of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command led by Colonel Tran Van Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command organized a Tet gift giving ceremony for poor households in the border commune of Nam Giai, Que Phong district.
Implementing the movement "Tet for the poor - Spring Ky Hoi 2019" launched by Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, each officer and soldier has spent part of their working day to donate and help poor households in the province. Up to now, the provincial armed forces have donated more than 425,000,000 million VND to help poor households celebrate the Lunar New Year Ky Hoi 2019.
At the headquarters of the People's Committee of Nam Giai commune, the Provincial Military Command presented 35 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to 35 poor households in the commune; the Women's Union of the Provincial Military Command presented warm blankets and 10 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, to 10 women members in difficult circumstances in the commune.

On this occasion, the Women's Union of the Provincial Military Command also organized a cultural exchange night, a campfire to warm the military-civilian relationship with the Thai people of Pieng Lang village. At the exchange night, the women's union members of the Provincial Military Command presented 55 gifts (worth 200,000 VND each) including sticky rice, fish sauce, MSG, and candy to 55 households in the village; presented 16 gifts (worth 300,000 VND each) to 16 women's union members in difficult circumstances in the village; presented hundreds of warm clothes, books, and new shoes to students in the village.
