In the early morning of March 31, the Criminal Police Department (C02) and the Mobile Police of the Ministry of Public Security suddenly raided a forest area in Dak Doa commune (Gia Lai), catching hundreds of people red-handed gambling using dice. Seeing the police, the crowd panicked, grabbed their money and ran away, diving into the bushes to hide.
Many shots were fired into the air, the police closed the perimeter and arrested 130 people, including many women. At the scene, the police seized nearly 300 million VND scattered everywhere, many gambling items, nearly 70 cars...
Identifying the casino leader Nguyen Manh Hung (aka Hung Sida, 35 years old) and his group of followers escaped the siege, the detectives spread out in many directions to arrest them. After many hours of searching through the forest, the police controlled Hung's group in the An Khe Pass area.
According to the investigation, Hung is one of the most notorious gangsters in the Central Highlands, with many criminal records. He opened a casino in the mountainous area, attracting hundreds of people from all over the provinces such as Nghe An, Da Nang, Phu Yen and northern provinces such as Hai Phong... to gamble every day. The casino operates around the clock, with huge stakes, sometimes reaching over a billion VND on the gambling table.

"This is the largest casino in the Central Highlands. We had to secretly move from Ho Chi Minh City, through many forests and mountains, so we encountered many difficulties. With nearly 70 cars at the scene, the number of gamblers could be up to 400 - 500. Because it was dark and the terrain was difficult, many gamblers escaped with their money," said an investigator.
The case is under further investigation.
