Border Guard supports more than 500 million VND for students in border areas

(Baonghean.vn) - As of August 17, the provincial Border Guard units have sponsored and helped 84 students, with a support level of 500,000 VND/student/month. Of which, each leader and commander will sponsor 2 students; each department, office, and unit under the provincial Border Guard will sponsor 2 students.

Immediately after receiving the appeal letter from the People's Committee of Nghe An province to respond to the Campaign "Supporting students to go to school" in the 2017-2018 school year, the Command of the Border Guard of Nghe An mobilized all officers and soldiers in the unit to participate in sponsoring and helping poor students with difficult circumstances in border areas and coastal areas to support them to excel in their studies.

The sponsored students are students with difficult circumstances, no place to depend on, orphans, homeless. The sponsored subjects are children of families with preferential policies; children of prestigious people, people who actively participate in border protection; children of ethnic soldiers; children of ethnic minorities... who have excelled in their studies.

In addition to providing financial support to students, the units also send staff to help, tutor, monitor and encourage them during their studies.

The total amount of support for 84 students in the 2017-2018 school year is 504 million VND (6 million VND per student).
