Nghe An Border Guards give gifts to students in Ky Son border district
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 5, the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province organized a gift-giving ceremony for "Helping you go to school" and "Adopted children of the border guard station" to students in difficult circumstances in the border area of Ky Son district, on the occasion of the opening of the new school year and the 2022 Mid-Autumn Festival.

Attending the program were Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Border Guard; commanders of departments, offices, and agencies of the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command; and representatives of border posts in Ky Son district.
On the side of Ky Son district, there were comrade Vi Hoe - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council; comrade Vi Thi Quyen - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee and representatives of the District Department of Education and Training.

In the Program, the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province and departments, offices and units presented 33 gifts, including books, clothes, moon cakes... with a total value of more than 50 million VND. The Ky Son District Association for Promotion of Education also presented 33 gifts to students under the Program "Helping Children Go to School" and "Adopted Children of Border Guard Stations" with a value of nearly 10 million VND.
At the program, Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard said: "The activity of sponsoring disadvantaged students has been implemented by the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard since 2014. By 2016, the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of border guards" was deployed simultaneously by the Border Guard Command nationwide, bringing many practical results and having profound humanistic significance, contributing to the dream of going to school for many poor border students".

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Comrade Vi Thi Quyen - Member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district affirmed: The program "Helping children go to school" and "Adopted children of the border guard station" of the Provincial Border Guard are activities with profound humanitarian significance, aiming to share the difficulties of students in the border area of Ky Son district; strengthen the solidarity between officers and soldiers with ethnic people on the border; further enhance the traditional image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new period, contributing to building a solid and long-lasting people's border defense, a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed border.
Over the past years, the Border Guard of Nghe An province has sponsored 151 disadvantaged students from border districts and students from Laos (including 112 Vietnamese children, 20 Lao children from opposite villages, and 19 children adopted from border posts). In Ky Son district, the "Helping children go to school" and "Adopted children from border posts" programs of the Border Guard of Nghe An province have helped 44 disadvantaged and orphaned students go to school (sponsored 25 Vietnamese students, 8 Lao students, and adopted 11 children).
Through financial support activities, gift giving, and direct tutoring and assistance to children in their studies, the units have promptly encouraged and motivated the children to overcome all difficulties and strive to excel in their studies.
