In early March 2022, doctors and nurses of Phuc Son Border Guard Station continued their days of working side by side with the authorities and people of Cao Veu villages to fight the Covid-19 epidemic. Captain, military doctor Nguyen Ba Luong said that since 2019, Phuc Son Border Guard Station established the Border Medicine Cabinet, until now, the unit's military doctors have maintained regular free medical examinations and treatment for the people. Especially in the past 2 years when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, officers and soldiers of Phuc Son Border Guard Station had almost no days off, even on holidays.

In addition to participating in strengthening the fight against the epidemic in the South, themilitary doctorof the station take turns to be on duty, propagate, examine and treat people in Phuc Son commune, Anh Son district and Thanh Duc commune, Thanh Chuong district. Doctor Nguyen Ba Luong himself has been on duty throughout the Lunar New Year and has not returned home yet. He has temporarily put aside his vacation for the whole year of 2021 to focus on his duties.

Not only in Phuc Son, but also in the border areas of the province, doctors and nurses wearing green uniforms have been staying with their units for more than two years, working with the locality to fight the epidemic. Border guards donated and installed 212 mailboxes to report illegal entry and exit to hamlets and villages in border areas.

To carry out their duties, the border posts have maintained maximum numbers of troops and increased the establishment of additional guard posts in key areas. My Ly Border Post has managed and protected the area of ​​My Ly and Bac Ly communes for the past two years. In addition to maintaining three guard posts, during the peak of the outbreak, the unit and locality have established dozens of checkpoints to control people entering and leaving the area, combined with propaganda to raise people's awareness.epidemic prevention.

Throughout the province, the green uniform force has arranged 74 teams/635 officers and soldiers to the area to propagate 153 sessions/12,586 listeners; maintained 34 fixed posts, 18 mobile control teams with 400 comrades participating. Maintained 23 interception teams, 46 working groups, Border Control Stations (KSBP), Military and Civilian Medical Stations combined with the participation of 379 comrades. In the coastal border areas, the units also maintained 06 KSBP Stations to perform the task of managing and protecting the border and sea areas, combined with the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic.

Protect sovereignty and border security

For over 60 years, March 3 has become a festival day for border guards. This is not only the anniversary of the founding of the Border Guard force, but also the People's Border Guard Day. Accordingly, managing and protecting the national border is identified as an important and regular task of the entire Party, people, army and the entire political system; relying on the people, taking the people as the root, "each border resident is a living milestone". Therefore, Border Guard Stations continue to strengthen coordination and connection with Party committees, authorities, organizations and people in the area, implementing "the army and the people have one will", together propagating and mobilizing the masses to consolidate the great solidarity of ethnic groups, building the people's national defense posture, the people's security posture associated with building the posture.People's borderstrong

In Na Ngoi commune, one of the areas located in the safe "green zone" in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, on March 2, 2022, the commune government and Na Ngoi Border Guard Station organized a warm discussion, both to review the tradition of the People's Border Guard Day and to encourage the officers and soldiers in green uniforms who are working day and night to keep the peace for the people. Looking back on a year of performing their duties, the officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Station and the officers of Na Ngoi commune are even more determined to fulfill their assigned tasks. In 2021 alone, Na Ngoi Border Guard Station conducted 11 patrols to protect the border and landmarks; coordinated with forest protection forces on 16 patrols, discovered and seized 20.5 m³ of various types of wood. Coordinated with the commune police to patrol the area on 21 patrols. Presided over and coordinated with functional forces to detect, arrest and prosecute 04 cases/07 subjects, seized 05kg of crystal meth; 03kg of Ketamine, 03 cakes and 7g of heroin, 12,000 synthetic drug pills and many other exhibits.

In units stationed in the coastal border area such as Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station (Quynh Luu), with a large area of ​​responsibility, every year they conduct more than 30 propaganda sessions, of which 31 sessions are held for nearly 4,000 people to participate, distribute 1,000 leaflets and check entry and exit for 11,034 vehicles entering and exiting the seaport. In 2021, the Border Guard force across the province helped receive and transport 1,808 Vietnamese people and 499 Lao people to the province's centralized quarantine areas; detected and handled 83 cases/203 subjects for acts of brokerage, transporting illegal immigrants; illegal entry, exit, and border crossing. Of which, 04 cases/06 subjects were prosecuted) and fined 394.4 million VND, and 148 cases were quarantined. Border guards also mobilized 24 vehicles with 630 officers and soldiers to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and accidents at sea, towing 10 vehicles with 120 crew members; successfully searching and rescuing 09 victims in distress at sea.

Adding "steel" to village party cells

Keng Du is the most remote border commune of Ky Son district, people's lives are still difficult with a poverty rate of over 50%. In March, the Border Guard Force's founding anniversary was not celebrated, activities towards the People's Border Guard Day were temporarily put on hold, in addition to performing the task of protecting border markers, Keng Du Border Guard Station also joined hands with the local government to build and consolidate grassroots party organizations. Accordingly, Keng Du Border Guard Station has 1 comrade assigned to take on the role of Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, 1 comrade participating in the Commune People's Council, 1 comrade participating in the Commune Fatherland Front Committee. In addition, the station also sent 5 party members to participate in activities at 5 disadvantaged village party cells in the area.

The participation of green-uniformed officers and soldiers in strengthening local grassroots party organizations has been carried out for many years. Based on the reality of the quality of life and the risk of "empty" party cells in remote villages and hamlets, on March 16, 2005, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee issued Notice No. 1002-TB/TU on "Temporary transfer of border guard officers and party members to participate in Party activities in villages (hamlets) on the western border of Nghe An" and Notice No. 394-TB/TU dated August 23, 2007 on "Transferring border guard officers and party members to participate in Party activities in areas with religious followers in coastal communes". Since 2005, green-uniformed officers and soldiers in border areas have worked with localities to improve their capacity, fighting strength, and the political "core" role for grassroots party organizations in remote areas and areas with many religious followers.

In 2021 alone, border guard units advised and helped localities consolidate and improve 102 party cells, 196 other political and social organizations, and advised localities to admit 10 new party members. The team of reinforced commune cadres and temporarily transferred party members also actively advised local Party committees to strictly maintain the Party's regime and routine, improve the quality of resolutions and leadership capacity of Party committees and party cells in villages and hamlets; supplement and perfect local conventions, village regulations, and cultural institutions. From 2005 to present, the Border Guard force has continued to maintain 27 reinforced cadres for border communes, 579 party members in charge of 2,671 households in border areas, and 80 Border Guard party members temporarily transferred to village and hamlet party cells.

Colonel Le Nhu Cuong - Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard said that, in the face of the current constant changes in many aspects, the tasks set for the Border Guard force are increasingly high and heavy.
