(Baonghean.vn) - Seeing Mr. Tuan's family struggling to live in a dilapidated house, the border guards mobilized philanthropists to build a house.

This year, the whole family of Mr. Lo Van Tuan, residing in Phong village,Tam Hop commune(Tuong Duong district), had a special Tet. Because this was the first year, his family lived in a solid house.

Mr. Tuan is a Tay Pong ethnic group. His family is one of the poorest in this border village. Despite working hard, the whole family still has to live in a dilapidated house. Feeling sorry for Mr. Tuan's family's difficult situation, officers and soldiers of Tam Hop Border Guard Station helped build this solid house for his family.

"The weather here has been very cold recently. However, the soldiers still come every day to help my family build a house so that it can be completed before Tet. My family is very happy because this year we can celebrate Tet in a new house. In the new year, my family will try to develop the economy and escape poverty," said Mr. Tuan.

Mr. Tuan and his wife have no jobs, they work in the fields all year round, just enough to eat, so they have no savings to repair the house. Since the family was established, he and his wife and two small children have lived in a makeshift wooden house, the walls are made of bamboo, the floor is always wet in the rainy season due to the leaking roof and the water coming in from the wall. Despite their great efforts in production, poverty still haunts Mr. Tuan's family. The dream of living in a solid house is really too far away for his family, if there is no help from all levels and sectors.

Seeing that Tuan's family needed help, Tam Hop Border Guard Station called for help from benefactors. After a while, they raised 30 million VND, but realized that this amount was only enough to buy materials. Therefore, Tam Hop Border Guard Station assigned officers and soldiers to help build a house for Tuan's family.

To complete this house, officers and soldiers of Tam Hop Border Post had to work very hard for nearly a month, with the participation of many officers and soldiers.

Captain Ho Huu Nghe, Deputy Political Commissar of Tam Hop Border Post, said that with the motto "The post is home, the border is the homeland, the people of all ethnic groups are blood brothers", in recent years, in parallel with the task of patrolling, controlling and protecting the border areas of the Fatherland, the officers and soldiers of Tam Hop Border Post have been implementing many activities towards the people in the border areas, especially poor families such as guiding people to convert crops and livestock and apply science and technology and production; Visiting and giving gifts to people; Building houses for the poor.
