PSG striker duo compete for penalty kick for $1.2 million?

According to L'Équipe (France), Edinson Cavani and Neymar have reasons to compete for the number of goals, leading to the action of fighting over the right to take a penalty kick in the match against Lyon last weekend.

In the contract Cavani signed with PSG, there is a clause that if this striker becomes the top scorer in Ligue 1, he will receive an additional $1.2 million in bonuses per season.

L'Équipe believes that Neymar's contract also has a similar clause. That is why both strikers are openly competing to improve their scoring record.

Cavani received the aforementioned $1.2 million bonus last season after winning the Golden Boot award, scoring 35 goals in 36 matches. The Uruguayan striker, who took penalties for PSG last season, was surprised by Neymar's request to take a penalty.
