Ministry of Education and Training: Candidates need to consider carefully when changing additional wishes
According to Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, most universities have met their enrollment targets. Some new majors that are "unpopular" will have a second round of enrollment.
After the first round of university admissions from August 8 to August 12, the additional admissions round will start from August 13.
Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, said that after the first round of enrollment, based on the occupational quota, if there is still a shortage, the schools will announce the second round of enrollment.

Candidates who passed the first round of admission and wish to change their wishes have the right to refuse to confirm their admission. However, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan advised candidates to consider carefully.
“Usually, schools have already filled their first round of enrollment quotas, and only some new or difficult majors will be considered for a second round of enrollment. With a small number of enrollment quotas and a low chance of passing, students need to think carefully before deciding to change their preferences,” said Mr. Tuan.
In fact, the admission scores of schools depend on a number of conditions. Among them, the depth of development of the training profession corresponds to the school's brand. The higher the employment rate of students, the greater the attraction. The admission scores of these schools compared to 2017 have not changed much.
For newly established schools, new professions, and brands that are not as well known as educational institutions with a long history of development, the benchmark scores decrease.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Phong Dien, Head of Training Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, most schools in the GX group in the Northern region, especially the top ones, have recruited enough students from the first round.
Only some mid-level schools such as Thuy Loi University, University of Mining and Geology... still lack some quotas for some majors, so they will consider additional wishes.
For non-public universities, the total number of applications is lower than the target, so additional applications will be considered.
