Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said that Russia is ready to negotiate with Ukraine without preconditions.

“Any hostile action ends with negotiations and, of course, we have said that we are ready for such negotiations. But only with negotiations without preconditions, negotiations based on reality, and negotiations that include the goals that we have announced,” TASS quoted Vershinin as saying in an interview with Zvezda TV channel on February 11.

At the same time, Mr. Vershinin noted that the decision to negotiate with Moscow was not made in Kiev, but in Washington (USA) and Brussels (Belgium).

“Previously, the negotiations took place in Minsk (Belarus) and in Istanbul (Türkiye). But they were interrupted by the Ukrainian side, we know for sure that the decision was not made in Kiev, the decision was made in other capitals, primarily in Washington, in Brussels,” Vershinin added.

The Russian diplomat also commented on the possibility of negotiations under President Joe Biden. “It doesn’t depend on us, we have made our position clear,” he stressed.

Earlier, according to Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya, the conflict in Ukraine will end when the West stops its proxy war against Russia.

“We all hope for peace. When those who are supporting this conflict stop their proxy war against Russia, I think the prospects for peace will become clearer,” Nebenzya said.

Ukraine has not yet responded to the information released by Russia.
