The Ministry of Home Affairs agrees with the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to swap working days so that workers can have 5 consecutive days off for the April 30 - May 1 holidays.

On April 5, the Ministry of Home Affairs sent Official Dispatch No. 1855 on comments on the proposed document to swap working days on the occasion of the April 30 Victory Day and May 1 International Labor Day holidays.

"The Ministry of Home Affairs agreed to propose the swapping of working days (taking April 29 off and working another day to compensate) and agreed on the content of the draft report to the Prime Minister prepared by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs," the document stated.

The Ministry of Home Affairs requested the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to complete the document and soon submit it to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision, ensuring proactiveness in organizing and arranging work of the political system, relevant agencies and organizations and the people.

Previously, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs sent a dispatch to relevant agencies to seek opinions on swapping working days on the occasion of the April 30 Victory Day and May 1 International Labor Day holidays so that workers can have 5 consecutive days off.

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that in 2024, the holiday of Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1 will have April 29 (Monday) falling between the holiday and the weekly day off.

People and tourists flock to Thu Le Park (Hanoi) to have fun on the occasion of the May 1, 2023 holiday.

Therefore, this agency proposed to swap the normal working day (April 29) and make up for it with another day so that cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers can have 5 consecutive days off.

This helps stimulate tourism and social consumption, promoting economic growth. At the same time, this swap does not change the working time fund of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers.

Therefore, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs proposes that the Prime Minister consider and decide on the above-mentioned work time swap./.
