Ministry of National Defense inspects Covid-19 prevention and control work on Nghe An border

(Baonghean.vn) - During 2 days (July 8-9), a working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense led by Major General Nguyen Van Luong - Deputy Chief Inspector of the Ministry of National Defense inspected and encouraged officers and soldiers of the Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station who are performing the task of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. Accompanying them were representatives of the Border Guard Command and leaders of the Nghe An Border Guard Command.

At the Nam Can International Border Guard Station, Major General Nguyen Van Luong and the working delegation inspected and visited officers and soldiers who were directly guarding the border, and listened to the unit's commander's representative report on the implementation of the mission in the past time.

The Nam Can International Border Guard Station is responsible for protecting the 29.752 km long border, controlling the Nam Can International Border Guard Station and the two communes of Ta Ca and Nam Can, Ky Son district. Since the Covid-19 epidemic became complicated, implementing the direction of the Border Guard Command, the Nam Can International Border Guard Station Command has synchronously deployed measures to ensure strict control of the border gate and border, and to propagate and mobilize people to prevent and combat the spread of the epidemic.

The unit has coordinated with immigration procedures for thousands of Vietnamese citizens returning to the country and Lao students returning to study; classified and handed over to authorities to organize centralized quarantine for health monitoring according to regulations.

Although there have been no cases of Covid-19 infection in the community in the country for nearly 3 months, the epidemic situation in the world is still complicated. To prevent the epidemic, the unit is currently maintaining 6 working groups to block the border, prevent illegal entry and exit activities, and ensure security and order in the area.

Visiting and encouraging officers and soldiers on duty at checkpoints, Major General Nguyen Van Luong acknowledged the participation of the Nam Can International Border Guard Station in synchronously deploying measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, while firmly protecting the national border security and sovereignty. Officers and soldiers have made efforts to overcome difficulties with the local authorities and people to perform well the assigned tasks.

In the coming time, Major General Nguyen Van Luong requested: Although our country has initially achieved important results, the epidemic is forecast to continue to develop complicatedly, so the unit's Command Board needs to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the direction of the Government, the Ministry of National Defense, the Border Guard Command and local authorities in deploying epidemic prevention and control measures.
