Military campaign in Donbass
Earlier, in his speech to the people, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Donbass. He stressed that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukraine, the aim is only to demilitarize and defascize Ukraine, adding that the full responsibility for the bloodshed will lie with the conscience of the Kiev regime. The head of the Russian state called the goal of the operation to protect the people of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, which have been suffering from genocide for the past eight years.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces attacked only the military infrastructure and the army of Ukraine, and as of March 25 they had completed the main tasks of the first stage - significantly reducing the combat potential of Ukraine.
