Ministry of National Defense: Preventing Covid-19 with the spirit of a soldier 'serving the people'

Currently, the whole country is entering phase 2 of the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic. This is an extremely difficult phase and the epidemic situation is complicated globally. Up to now, Vietnam has had 121 cases of the epidemic, the number of suspected cases of Covid-19 is 645, the number of close contacts and people entering from epidemic areas who are being quarantined for health monitoring is 52,790.

In phase 2, the Ministry of National Defense will make every effort to prevent and limit the spread of Covid-19 into the military, detect early cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, control and promptly handle outbreaks; maintain a healthy military force, ensuring that the military has enough strength to fight, study and work in all situations.

Closely coordinate with relevant agencies to effectively carry out the task of preventing and controlling the epidemic for the people according to the direction of the Prime Minister; organize the reception, management, supervision, and medical quarantine of people from countries and territories with epidemics entering Vietnam for 14 days.

Concluding the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don requested the Military Regions, Provincial Military Commands, and Border Guard Commands to promote the role of the 4 on-site forces. The Deputy Minister of National Defense emphasized: “We are the people's army. In these difficult conditions, all is the spirit of the soldier serving the people, sharing difficulties with the people with all his heart, love, and courage.”
