Cows gain 20 kg thanks to water injection before slaughter

Each cow before being sold to traders is pumped with about 20 liters of water into its stomach, equivalent to increasing its weight by about 20kg.

On the evening of March 20, the reconnaissance force of the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Team of Bien Hoa City Police, Dong Nai Province, inspected and discovered a case of water being injected into cows before slaughter.

At that time, the environmental police force suddenly inspected the slaughterhouse of Ms. Vo Thi Thu Ha at group 36, quarter 8, Ho Nai ward, Bien Hoa city, and discovered Duong Van Thuy, 39 years old, residing in hamlet 6, Vinh Tan commune, Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai, was pumping water into the stomachs of some cows being kept there.

Before being caught, Thuy had finished injecting water into the stomachs of 2 cows. At the slaughterhouse, there were 6 other cows waiting for their turn to be injected with water.

Duong Van Thuy confessed that he usually pumped about 20 liters of water into the stomach of each cow before selling the meat to traders (equivalent to about 20kg - PV). Thuy rented the slaughterhouse from Ms. Vo Thi Thu Ha.

Currently, the authorities are completing the dossier and handling the case./.
