Minister of Transport attends the launching ceremony of Cua Hoi bridge construction across Lam River
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 12, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) coordinated with Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Cua Hoi bridge across Lam river.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The leaders of Ha Tinh province included comrade Le Dinh Son - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. Also attending were comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of departments, branches and sectors of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

Will be completed after 18 months of construction
The Cua Hoi Bridge construction investment project across Lam River, Nghe An Province and Ha Tinh Province has a total investment of 950 billion VND. The project's capital structure includes: 450 billion VND from government bonds, 250 billion VND from Nghe An Province's budget and 250 billion VND from Ha Tinh Province's budget.
The project has a total length of 5,271 km, of which the main Cua Hoi bridge is 1,728 km long, the rest is the access road to Nghe An and Ha Tinh. Specifically, the starting point of the project at Km0+00 connects with Provincial Road 535 and the planned road of Cua Lo Town in Nghi Hai Ward, Cua Lo Town (Nghe An Province), the end point of the project connects the coastal road implemented by Ha Tinh Province, about 200 m from the intersection with National Highway 8B, in Xuan Truong Commune, Nghi Xuan District (Ha Tinh Province).

According to the approved design, the main bridge of Cua Hoi is 1.728 km long, the main bridge is 18.5 m wide and the approach bridge is 16 m wide. The clearance is suitable for ships with a load capacity of up to 2,000 DWT, the clearance limit is 120 m x 20.5 m, the distance from the center of the channel to each side is 40 m with a clearance height of 24.5 m.
The road section of the project is designed according to the standards of a level 3 plain road, with a 12m wide roadbed and 11m wide road surface, including two motor vehicle lanes and two mixed lanes, with a design speed of 80 km/h. The project is divided into two construction packages.

Quality comes first
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The emphasized that the Cua Hoi bridge project across Lam River is located on the planned coastal route connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. It is a project of great significance in regional connectivity, creating momentum to promote socio-economic development, ensuring security and defense of the Southeast of Nghe An province and the Northeast of Ha Tinh province.
The Minister of Transport emphasized: The early completion of the project will connect the coastal road of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces across Lam River, while reducing traffic on National Highway 1.

Emphasizing that construction quality must be given top priority, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The requested localities, contractors, and agencies under the Ministry of Transport to closely coordinate in site clearance; strengthen regular inspection and supervision; contractors to focus resources, construct works according to design, schedule, and ensure quality.

On the side of Nghe An province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy committed to promptly handing over the construction site; allocating sufficient capital for the project according to plan; ensuring security and order and promptly resolving all difficulties and problems; creating the best conditions for contractors to construct the project, completing it on schedule.
