(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 15, comrade Dao Ngoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs visited and presented gifts to veteran revolutionaries, pre-uprising cadres, and war invalids in Nghe An on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2022).

Also going on the side of Nghe An province were comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and the delegation visited Mr. Nguyen Canh Thin, born in 1928, a pre-uprising cadre, 3/4 war invalid, residing in Hung Binh ward, Vinh city.

He currently lives with the family of his son, Nguyen Canh Thao, a retired 4/4 war invalid, Vice President of the Vinh City Veterans Association.

Mr. Nguyen Canh Thin's family and children are always exemplary, complying with the Party's policies and the State's laws, actively participating in activities and movements of the ward and block, and annually achieving the title of Cultural Family.

Next, the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs visited and presented gifts to Mrs. Dinh Thi Giao, born in 1923. She has 6 children, one of whom is a martyr. She is currently living with her youngest son, Mr. Hoang Nghia Sam, in Hung Dung ward, Vinh city.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and the delegation also visited Khanh Hop commune, Nghi Loc district to visit and present gifts to Mr. Hoang Van Bang, born in 1918, a veteran revolutionary cadre. His family has 3 children, 2 daughters married far away, are retired cadres, exemplary in life, 1 son has passed away. Currently, Mr. Hoang Van Bang is living with his daughter-in-law who is seriously ill.

On July 16, in Vinh city, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a ceremony to award the Certificate of Merit to the Fatherland. This is an activity organized annually by the Ministry since 2017, expressing the recognition and gratitude of the Party, State and People for the contributions and sacrifices of martyrs and their families in the cause of national liberation and defense, demonstrating the morality and tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree" of the Vietnamese people.

This year's ceremony to award the Certificate of Merit to the Fatherland, held in Nghe An, is the focus of a series of major activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
