On January 9, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a regular press conference for the fourth quarter of 2018 and voted on 10 cultural, sports and tourism events in 2018. At the meeting, many hot issues of the industry in recent times were raised, however, it seems that the explanations of the representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have not yet found a conclusion.
Regarding the case of Miss Ocean 2017 Le Au Ngan Anh suing the Department of Performing Arts for not granting her permission to participate in the Miss Intercontinental 2018 contest, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thai Binh said: “Today, the Department of Performing Arts has invited the unit that requested permission to send Ngan Anh to participate in the Miss Intercontinental contest, Miss World Trading and Services Company Limited, to work. Previously, this company had also repeatedly asked to postpone the meeting with the Department of Performing Arts to clarify the reasons why Ngan Anh was denied permission. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will soon inform the press agencies about specific information.”

Previously, on December 3, 2018, Miss World Trading and Service Company Limited submitted an application to the Department of Performing Arts to grant permission for Miss Ocean 2017 - Le Au Ngan Anh to participate in the Miss Intercontinental 2018 contest (taking place from January 8-27, 2019 in the Philippines).

Le Au Ngan Anh informed the press that she will sue the Department of Performing Arts because, according to her, the Department broke the law when it refused to grant her permission to participate in Miss Intercontinental 2018.
"To ensure her legal rights, Le Au Ngan Anh has authorized her personal lawyer to file a lawsuit against the Department of Broadcasting and Television," said Le Au Ngan Anh's media representative.
