VTV Editor Thu Ha: 'I have many crazy fans and many funny stories'
VTV anchor Thu Ha shared that she once received hundreds of emails from a crazy fan, who talked to her like he was her lover, with feelings of love, dating, and jealousy.
- Possessing a beautiful and youthful appearance, BTV Thu Ha rarely posts photos on social networks. Is it because she is shy or because her husband doesn't like it?
As a news editor and reporter, I have a habit of sharing images that both ensure news elements and suit my style.

- Working with VTV News and being the youngest female news MC at that time, what did this job bring you the greatest?
Until now, people still say that no one has surpassed me in age when I started hosting the 7pm News. It is a job I love, I get to travel to many places, improve and constantly update my knowledge.
My journey from a student to VTV, at first it seemed like a very instinctive, innocent thing, then it was a period of training and becoming brave and sharp. Because we are conveying information to the public, we need to be accurate and not allowed to make mistakes.
Once interrupted hosting the 7pm News to become a mother, met a crazy fan who made her laugh and cry.
- What was the reason for your absence from the 7pm News?
That was the time when I had children and wanted to focus on my family. There was also a time when I wanted to experience different positions in television to have more realistic perspectives.
Being a news anchor is more than just reading the news. To be a news anchor, you have to really understand it. I crave to know more and TV is an endless source.
If I watch BTV Thu Ha at 25 years old hosting a program, it will be completely different from me after a decade of training and growing up. I find every time I host is different and new.
- You once shared that being a News Editor has many challenges. What is the reason you have stuck with the job for a decade?
I have been involved with VTV since I was a student, and after graduating I started working there and have been with it until now. At first, I simply thought that working at the station was a matter of pride and a dream for many people. After that, I was attracted and passionate about the job.
The nature of doing news is that everything is always new, updated hourly. This is the right environment for someone like me who likes to learn and find new things.
- With your beautiful appearance and the nature of your work in television, you must have many fans and even die-hard fans?
This is true, I have many crazy fans and many "half-laughing, half-sad" stories. When on screen, reporters and editors often leave their emails in the corner of the screen. That's why I often receive a lot of emails.
Normally I don't pay much attention, unless someone sends it repeatedly. I once received emails from a man, one day he texted to get to know me, asked how I was, and the next day he wrote a letter to me like I was his lover. That person commented that I didn't look good in this outfit, and the next day he texted: "There, Ha, listen to me, you're absolutely fine wearing this outfit today."(laugh)Not to mention there was also anger and jealousy when I hosted with a male MC.

- What about the true fans? Can you share your memories?
I didn’t think I had that many fans. There is a child with autism who regularly watches my shows. His mother said that when watching Ms. Thu Ha, her child seemed excited and enthusiastic. She really hopes that I can talk to her child once. I feel happy and warm because I bring small happiness to others.
I train my children to eat and sleep well from an early age.
- Having a small child and a job that requires frequent business trips, how do you arrange your schedule?
I am very lucky to have both sets of parents supporting me in taking care of my children. My first child is 5 and my second is only 15 months old, but I still go on business trips regularly. Since they were very young, my mother has put them on a regular schedule, usually going to bed at 8pm and waking up the next morning.
- Do you and your husband ever have conflicts about childcare? If so, who will give in?
I have full control over how I raise and care for my children. The first child was quite successful, so the second child was not difficult. So it is difficult for my husband to complain or give advice. We were friends before we became lovers and were attached, so there was no conflict or argument.

- Do you still maintain the habit of reading books amidst your busy work? Do you train your children in this habit?
I love reading and have successfully applied the knowledge from books, such as raising children. If I had to choose between toys and books, I would definitely choose books. It is true that there are no toys so children have to learn to be friends with books from an early age.
My older child now has the habit of reading books by himself. When going to the library, he knows how to proactively choose the books he likes... and my younger sister, even though she is young, also cheers with excitement when she sees books.
