In April 2019, the country had 14,854 newly established enterprises. This figure shows that the number of newly established enterprises and the registered capital of newly established enterprises in the private sector reached the highest level in the first 4 months of this year.
Specifically, in April 2019, the whole country had 14,854 newly established enterprises with registered capital of 167 trillion VND, an increase of 19% in the number of enterprises and an increase of 30.3% in registered capital compared to the previous month; the average registered capital per enterprise reached 11.2 billion VND, an increase of 27.3%; the total number of registered employees of newly established enterprises was 131.4 thousand people, a decrease of 14.5%.

During the month, the country also had 2,714 enterprises returning to operation, down 44.4% compared to the previous month; 2,495 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend business for a period of time, up 81.7%; 1,904 enterprises stopped operating pending dissolution procedures, up 1.2%; 1,189 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, up 23.9%.
If including the VND872 trillion of additional registered capital of enterprises changing to increase capital, the total registered capital added to the economy in the first 4 months of 2019 is VND1,414.4 trillion. In addition, there are 17,463 enterprises returning to operation, up 52.6% over the same period last year, bringing the total number of newly registered enterprises and enterprises returning to operation in the first 4 months of this year to nearly 60.8 thousand enterprises.
The total number of registered employees of newly established enterprises in the first four months of this year was 449,100 people, an increase of 35.2% over the same period last year.
In the first 4 months of this year, most economic regions had an increase in the number of newly registered enterprises compared to the same period last year, such as: The Red River Delta had 13.2 thousand enterprises, up 8.3% (registered capital reached 130.4 trillion VND, up 11.6%); North Central and Central Coast had 6.2 thousand enterprises, up 7.7% (registered capital was 54.9 trillion VND, down 1.8%); Central Highlands had 1.1 thousand enterprises, up 10.7% (registered capital was 13 trillion VND, up 122.6%).
The Southeast region had 18,000 enterprises, up 3% (registered capital of VND291.9 trillion, up 55.4%); the Mekong Delta had 3,100 enterprises, up 1.5% (registered capital of VND30.5 trillion, up 3.3%). The Northern Midlands and Mountains region alone had 1,700 newly established enterprises, down 7.2% over the same period last year (registered capital of VND21.7 trillion, up 35.3%)./.
