Storm No. 5 has made landfall, severely affecting some areas of Nghe An province. Many wards and communes have been experiencing widespread power outages since the morning of August 25, disrupting daily life. Faced with this situation, many people and businesses have set up free charging stations for people.

Power outageFor a long time, it not only affected communication and daily life but also directly caused water shortages for many households using water pumped from wells. In Thanh Chuong, Mr. Thai Bang supported people lacking water for daily life by transporting generators to many places to pump water for free for people.

A truck carrying a machine, wherever needed, Mr. Bang will stop, connect it safely and then let the electricity run for the family pump. When the tank is full, he will turn off the machine, retract the wire and continue. Mr. Bang's phone number is public on social networks so that people can proactively seek help and reduce the difficulties caused by the storm. Mr. Bang's practical support has warmed the hearts of people after the storm.

Also with the desire to help people, in Song Mo village, Quynh Anh commune, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen took advantage of her family's spare batteries and means of transport so that people could charge their batteries for free. "After the storm, people's travel and communication needs were met but there was no electricity, so it was very inconvenient. Because my family has a passenger car, I took advantage of it as a power source for everyone to charge" - Ms. Huyen shared.

Also in Quynh Anh commune, Luyen Van audio equipment store also takes advantage of electricity from family solar batteries to let people charge electric vehicles and phones for free.

In Hoa Tien village, Chau Tien commune, although his family was heavily affected by flooding after the storm, immediately after the water receded, Lang Van Chien and his wife ran the generator so that villagers could charge their phones for free.

Previously, in wards such as Thanh Vinh, Vinh Phu... on August 26, when the power grid had not been restored, many businesses, units and individuals also actively shared free electricity with everyone. At Thanh An Hotel (Thanh Vinh ward), people can come to charge their phones, cook rice, and boil water for free using generators. At Vien Nu Audio Store (Thanh Vinh ward), people who come to charge their batteries, phones, lamps... are also offered free water.

“With electricity, we can contact relatives and friends, conveniently get information and send children to school. In this difficult time, simple but warm sharing actions have become bright spots, helping people feel warmer in their hardships” – Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh (Vinh Phu ward) shared.

Not only small businesses, large chain stores such as Dien May Xanh, Vietel, Mobifone, FPT… in the province also provide free charging for people. This timely support reduces the difficulties and inconveniences caused by the storm.

It is known that, before the heavy damage caused bystorm number 5(Kajiki) caused, immediately after the storm dissipated, the Northern Power Corporation and the Central Power Corporation urgently mobilized more than 500 officers and employees to participate in restoring power supply in Nghe An and Ha Tinh. With the goal of restoring the power grid before the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

By the end of August 26, many wards in the old Vinh city had electricity back and life began to stabilize. The remaining areas will be repaired as soon as possible.
