After storm No. 5 (Kajiki) made landfall in the North Central region, Nghe An province was one of the localities heavily affected with prolonged heavy rain and strong winds, causing serious damage to the power grid system in the area.
Immediately after the storm, although the weather was not favorable, Nghe An Electricity Company promptly mobilized maximum forces and means to urgently fix the problem and restore power as soon as possible to ensure the daily life and production of people and businesses.

Storm No. 5 brought strong winds of level 9-10, gusting over level 12, causing a series of medium and low voltage lines to collapse, and many transformer stations to lose power. Hundreds of thousands of customers and households across the province were left without power. The power system serving hospitals, medical facilities, pumping stations for flood control and many key areas was also affected, with estimated damage of tens of billions of VND.
Faced with that situation, Nghe An Power Company immediately activated the disaster prevention and control and search and rescue plan, with the motto "4 on-site", "3 ready", directing the affiliated regional Power Management Teams to urgently deploy inspections and review of damage along the entire route.
The company's leadership went directly to the scene to inspect and direct the troubleshooting plan; together with officers and employees, they were mobilized to work through the night, despite adverse weather conditions, to restore the power system.

Grasping the situation of serious damage to the power grid in Nghe An province, right from the first hours after the storm weakened, the Board of Directors of the Northern Power Corporation sent Deputy General Directors, Mr. Tran Huy Hoang and Mr. Ha Huy Tam, to quickly arrive in Nghe An, directly to the scene of the heavily affected hotspots such as the Power Management Team of Vinh, Nam Dan, Nghi Loc, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen to inspect the actual situation, together with the leaders of Nghe An Power Company to stay at the scene, closely directing solutions to restore power supply to people and key facilities.
