9-year-old singer and the journey to the prestigious award
Young singer Khanh Thu has just won the Gold Medal for vocal music in the 9-11 age group at the Yoshine Music Festival - one of the prestigious national music competitions.
The musical talent of little girl Nguyen Khanh Thu (born in 2015) was nurtured and nurtured by her family in an innocent and pure way.
Anyone who has heard Nguyen Khanh Thu sing will never forget the powerful voice and natural demeanor of this 9-year-old girl, who dominates the stage. I once saw Khanh Thu perform in a program.summer campfor orphans who are children of union members and workers, we were really impressed with the singing of the chubby girl with a round face and lovely pink glasses.

Although her parents are not in the arts, Khanh Thu is fortunate to have an innate talent for music. Ms. Duong Van - Khanh Thu's mother shared: "At the age of 4, Khanh Thu knew many songs by heart, she knew the lyrics quickly, caught emotions quickly and showed a very good ability to perceive music. In grade 2, I encouraged her to participate in the school-level talent search program and she won first prize. From here, she regularly participated in school-level artistic activities and gradually developed confidence when performing in front of a crowd. To accompany my child, I also looked for more activities and activities related to music so that she could both experience and satisfy her passion."
Her mother's support is the motivation for Khanh Thu to be more confident in her musical journey. Recently, with a convincing performance, Khanh Thu excellently won the Gold Medal for vocal music in the 9-11 age group at the Yoshine Music Festival - one of the prestigious national music competitions.
Attending the qualifying round in the North, despite the short preparation time, Khanh Thu completely conquered the judges with the song “Light up the fire, em” by Huy Du. Entering the second round - the final round of the North, Khanh Thu continued to amaze the audience with her rich high notes when performing “Chiec khan pieu” by musician Doan Nho. With a score of 92/100 points, Khanh Thu won the Gold Medal in the North and entered the national final round.
“In this final round, I was quite worried because the time to choose the song and practice was only 5 days. Luckily, she met 2 teachers from the Military Region 4 Art Troupe, Mr. Viet Hoa and Mr. Minh Son. Both teachers analyzed her strengths and weaknesses to come up with a song that suited her voice and exploited her strengths. After much consideration, Khanh Thu decided to compete nationwide with the song “Lake on the Mountain” by musician Pho Duc Phuong,” Ms. Van shared.

With her natural talent, Khanh Thu’s practice and memorization of lyrics went quite smoothly. Besides her gifted voice and passion for music, Khanh Thu also likes to make her own decisions about matters related to herself and “reveal” her musical creativity until the last minute.
“I do what I like, so it’s not until I perform on stage that my parents get to know how I sing and act. If asked, I usually just answer: “I have an idea in my head, I’ll perform it on the day of the competition.” And it’s true, every time I get on stage, I sing with all my heart, let myself go, and confidently take control of the stage,” said Ms. Van.

Talking about supporting and developing their daughter's "nightingale" voice, Khanh Thu's parents both believe that the important thing is to find an environment for their child to satisfy her passion for singing, but one that is age-appropriate, humane and non-commercial.
Ms. Van said: "It's too early to talk about future plans on the road."musicFor me, competitions are just memorable experiences in a happy childhood journey, not focusing on achievements. The important thing for my child now is still studying culture, singing to nurture the soul, build confidence in front of a crowd, and help reduce stress during the learning process."
