"Young people, always keep in your hearts the fire of dedication"

On the evening of March 25, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund held the award ceremony for Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces 2017. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended and presented awards to 10 Outstanding Young Faces.

After listening to the young faces exchange and share memorable stories about their successes and failures, the Prime Minister expressed: The outstanding achievements and impressive images of typical young faces and promising young faces always make us all moved, proud and confident in the young generation of Vietnam, in the bright future of our Vietnamese people.

Among the young faces chosen to be honored today, there are students with special achievements in studying, scientific research, and social activities; some who have affirmed their talents in the fields of culture, art, and sports; some who are brave and courageous civil servants and armed forces personnel with many achievements; some who are creative, young, and talented start-up entrepreneurs; and some who are doctors in very remote areas.

“These are the core elements spreading good values, being shining examples for the young generation to learn and follow, contributing to building and developing Vietnamese youth in the new era,” said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister stated that, during the process of leading the Vietnamese Revolution, Uncle Ho and our Party always paid attention to, valued and cared for the discovery, nurturing and making use of talents, especially young talents, with the consistent and consistent policy: Talents are the vital energy of the nation. This is a strategic issue of special importance to the country. Our Party and State have had many policies and strategies to attract, honor and make use of talents, prioritizing many resources to develop young talents. Many young talents have been cared for and nurtured by the Party and State and have grown up, making great and important contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

According to the Prime Minister, the title of Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face has added motivation, faith, ambition and aspiration for the young people honored to receive this award to continue to rise, continue to shine, and make positive and important contributions to the country. The award also contributes to arousing good and humane values ​​among young people and in society.

The Prime Minister said that the young faces honored today are truly outstanding representatives in many fields, from studying, scientific research, production, business, start-ups, national defense, security and order, sports, culture and arts to social activities.

“The title of Outstanding Young Vietnamese Face is a noble title resulting from a process of continuous efforts. I hope that you will cherish, be proud of, and be aware of your responsibilities, duties, and missions to continue to practice and cultivate according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, and live responsibly towards yourself, your family, and society. Constantly strive to improve, not be complacent, not satisfied with what you have achieved; truly be exemplary examples of Vietnamese youth,” said the Prime Minister.

Along with the 4th industrial revolution, our country is increasingly renewing deeply and comprehensively, integrating deeply with the world, requiring each individual, especially the youth, to constantly innovate, explore, and devote themselves to research and application of scientific and technological achievements, in their studies and work fields, reaching new horizons and peaks of knowledge, creating new, different values. Each young face honored today must be a pioneer, brave, enthusiastic, overcoming all difficulties and challenges with determination, having great ambitions, aspirations to rise up, and passion for creativity.

The country looks forward to the continuous efforts and creative work of young people in all fields. You should always keep in your hearts the flame of dedication, bring your talent and creativity to serve the people, homeland and country, and spread more strongly the noble values ​​of will, determination to rise up, the desire to contribute, qualities and intelligence in the youth, community and society. You should rise even stronger, achieve more outstanding achievements to contribute to bringing the country forward faster, further and more firmly on the path to becoming a new tiger and dragon of the world, the Prime Minister expressed.

The Prime Minister requested the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, agencies, units and localities to continue to nurture, care for and promote advanced models. The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union must truly be a reliable address, a support, a lever, a place where each young talent in particular and each young person in general needs to go, wants to go.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the youth and youth organizations, with the Youth Union as the core and in charge, must be good nurseries for good values, good people, and good deeds among youth and children so that the country can have more typical examples and promising faces in many fields and areas across the country, actively contributing to local socio-economic development and the cause of building and defending the country.

The Prime Minister requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, agencies, departments, sectors, organizations, individuals and businesses continue to pay attention, accompany, support and join hands to contribute to the development of young talents in the country. It is both our sentiment and our responsibility in the cause of caring for, training and nurturing the young generation.

It is known that this year, the Organizing Committee of the award received 136 valid nominations from 53 units (11 more than last year) in 10 fields: Study; scientific research - innovation; production labor; business - start-up; administrative management; national defense - security and order; sports; culture and arts; social activities. Of which, 104 nominations are male, 31 nominations are female; 9 nominations are ethnic minorities (Tay, Mong, Nung, Bahnar, Jrai, Muong, Giay); the highest academic title is Associate Professor, the highest academic degree is Doctor. The oldest nominee was born in 1983, the youngest was born in 2004.

After 22 times of organization, the annual Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award has discovered and honored over 200 outstanding young faces.
