Assessing U20 Vietnam as the lowest team in Group E, experts believe that when the difference between opponents in the group, specifically U20 New Zealand and U20 Honduras, is not too big, the opportunity is still open for Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan and his team.
Evaluating the draw results, Quang Nam coach Hoang Van Phuc said: “In my opinion, this is a favorable result. Vietnam U20 was lucky to be in the easiest group and coach Hoang Anh Tuan also expressed his satisfaction. France is the world's leading team so they are the strongest and the top position in the group is considered a default for them. Next, Honduras is considered the second strongest in this group. New Zealand football is just developing. If they prepare seriously and play well, I believe that Vietnam U20 will pass the group stage.”
According to expert Phan Anh Tu, U20 New Zealand and U20 Honduras are better than U20 Vietnam. However, they also have weaknesses that Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan's team can exploit. "We can ignore France and focus on the two matches with New Zealand and Honduras. New Zealand is not too unfamiliar because their playing style is similar to Australia. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan's philosophy is to use tactics to break their strength, so if they can defeat New Zealand in the opening match, the door will be wide open. Honduras has technique but they are still wild in their playing style, and their tactics are not good, so if they exploit them well, U20 Vietnam will have a completely positive result," Mr. Tu commented.
For his part, expert Doan Minh Xuong said that U20 Vietnam fell into an easy group: “We are lucky to fall into a fairly easy group and have a relatively favorable schedule when facing an easy opponent, U20 New Zealand, in the opening match. In youth football, the difference in expertise as well as experience in the field is not too big. U20 Vietnam is only disadvantaged in terms of physique and physical strength. But with the upcoming training plan, I believe U20 Vietnam will get acquainted with similar opponents so that we can have reasonable solutions to aim for positive results in the upcoming finals.”
