Coach Hua Hien Vinh is not satisfied even though U20 Vietnam won 2 consecutive matches.
Although the Vietnam U20 team had their second victory in the U20 Asia qualifiers, coach Hua Hien Vinh was still not satisfied with his players' performance.
On the evening of September 25, the U20 Vietnam team won 3-0 against U20 Guam, thereby reclaiming the top spot from U20 Syria in the 2025 U20 Asian qualifiers. Evaluating the match, coach Hua Hien Vinh said:
"I'm satisfied with the score and the players' spirit, but at some points you were a bit fussy. If you were more careful, you could have taken advantage of the opportunity to score, especially when the other team was playing with one less player. That's what we need to improve."
''In this tournament, every team wants to score points, so we struggled against Bhutan in the second half to increase the score in the opening match. They played better. Syria played very well and persistently searched for goals," coach Hua Hien Vinh admitted that U20 Vietnam will have difficulty facing any opponent.
Meanwhile, captain Nguyen Cong Phuong said: "Although we won, we still have many shortcomings in finishing. The team needs to improve more."
On the other side of the battle line, Guam U20 coach Dominic Gadia said: "I have no complaints about the goalkeeper's red card situation. When you make a mistake, you have to get a card, but our reserve goalkeeper played well. I did not expect this situation.
Playing with one less man is difficult and I don't think U20 Vietnam didn't play slowly but continued to attack. We created chances. I'm proud of my players. They did everything they could."
After 2 matches, U20 Vietnam is at the top of Group A, equal on points but ahead of U20 Syria in additional index.
