Medical facilities in Nghe An province are organizing full-time duty shifts at all four levels during Tet.

The Director of the Department of Health requested that medical facilities organize full on-call duty at all four levels during the Tet holiday; ensure effective emergency care and medical treatment for patients; and have plans in place to deal with potential accidents, poisonings, and mass casualty incidents.

Recently, the Nghe An Department of Health issued two directives to relevant units regarding ensuring healthcare services and assigning on-call duties during the Lunar New Year holiday of 2025.medicalPublic and private schools in Nghe An province.

Accordingly, the Director of the Department of Health requested the directors of all units to thoroughly understand and effectively implement Directive No. 40-CT/TW dated December 11, 2024, of the Party Central Committee and Directive No. 45/CT-TTg dated December 18, 2024, of the Prime Minister on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe, and economical Lunar New Year celebration in 2025.

Develop and implement a plan to strengthen the work.medicalEnsure a successful Lunar New Year celebration in 2025. Assign 24/7 duty rosters for unit leaders and staff as per regulations. Absolutely avoid complacency, negligence, or a lack of vigilance in the face of the epidemic. Organize standby forces and resources to monitor and supervise the epidemic's progress and promptly handle any emerging situations.

Strictly adhere to the information and reporting regime, ensuring full, timely, and accurate reporting as required by the Ministry of Health, the Department of Health, and other competent authorities. Guarantee cybersecurity and the necessary conditions for the stable operation of the health information system and database.

Medical facilitiesOrganize medical examinations and treatment effectively, maintain 24/7 on-call service; proactively develop plans to ensure sufficient supplies of medicines, blood, intravenous fluids, medical supplies, chemicals, equipment, and medical oxygen; prepare emergency plans for events with large gatherings; allocate sufficient hospital beds and vehicles, ready to respond to and serve treatment and emergency care, especially for traffic accidents, fires, injuries, food poisoning, and treatment of patients with infectious diseases during Tet.

Instruct medical staff to strictly adhere to the hospital's rules and regulations, enhance their service awareness and conduct towards patients and their families during examinations and treatments; Visit and extend New Year greetings to inpatients, especially those in difficult circumstances, the poor, and those eligible for social welfare programs.

Private healthcare facilitiesDevelop a plan to coordinate with public health facilities in the area to participate in implementing health work to ensure a safe Lunar New Year celebration in 2025; prepare the necessary conditions to participate in coordinated activities when required. Mobilize and secure legitimate support resources; fully and promptly implement policies and incentives for health workers during Tet, especially those on duty during Tet.

Food Safety Sub-DepartmentStrengthen the implementation of risk monitoring, prevention, and incident response regarding food safety; promptly provide information and warnings about food poisoning risks. Promote the dissemination of legal regulations and knowledge about food safety to raise awareness and understanding within the community.

Strengthen inter-agency inspections and audits to ensure food safety before, during, and after Tet (Lunar New Year), focusing on product groups that are heavily consumed during Tet and other festivals and have high risk factors; promptly detect and strictly handle violations, while commending organizations, individuals, and establishments that produce and sell safe food for the community.

Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Health Centers of districts, cities, and towns.tStrengthen measures to prevent and control measles, dengue fever, infectious diseases at risk of outbreaks during the winter-spring season, and newly emerging dangerous infectious diseases that may enter our country; prepare and be ready to respond to potential disease outbreaks; strengthen monitoring and surveillance at border gates and in the community, detect early, respond promptly and thoroughly to infectious disease outbreaks, preventing spread and outbreaks; promote communication in disease prevention and control and vaccination.

Develop a plan for readiness to respond to epidemic situations based on the "four on-the-spot" principle; prepare sufficient chemicals, equipment, vehicles, and personnel to ensure that the requirements for epidemic prevention and control in the area are met. Ensure the necessary conditions for deploying rapid response teams and the necessary vehicles, equipment, chemicals, and medical supplies to be ready to support localities in responding to epidemic situations.

Coordinate with relevant units to organize communication and disseminate knowledge to units and people in the area on disease prevention and control according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, especially infectious diseases, respiratory diseases, and high-risk groups such as children with weak immune systems, the elderly, and people with underlying medical conditions.

Pharmaceutical Services Department(Health service)Ensure sufficient drug supply, implement adequate stockpiling plans, and prevent shortages of drugs for medical examination and treatment, especially drugs for treating diseases commonly occurring during the winter and spring seasons (dengue fever, influenza A, measles, etc.).

Inspection Department (Health service)Strengthen inspection and supervision work to promptly detect counterfeit, substandard, and unauthorized drugs; review and conduct post-inspection to promptly handle cases of violations of regulations on drug price management, preventing hoarding and price gouging that violate regulations.

The Director of the Department of Health also requested that hospitals organize visits and Tet celebrations for patients still undergoing treatment during the Tet holiday; paying special attention to poor patients and patients belonging to policy beneficiary groups.
