In recent days, due to the impact of storms No. 6 and No. 7, heavy rains and floods have occurred over a large area in the Central provinces, especially Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri and Quang Binh, causing heavy losses in human lives and property.

Up to this point, floods and landslides have left many people dead and missing; thousands of houses have collapsed, washed away and been flooded. Tens of thousands of hectares of rice, crops and aquaculture areas have been lost; hundreds of thousands of livestock and poultry have been swept away. Many schools, hospitals and public works have been damaged and flooded, and traffic arteries in many areas are being cut off and isolated.
