Localities take advantage of off-season to build new rural roads

Secretary of Thanh Tra hamlet's Party cell, Ma Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) - Mr. Le Dinh Minh said: In order for this campaign to build new rural traffic effectively, the hamlet has agreed that each person (aged 7 - 59 years old) will contribute 500 thousand VND to build inter-commune and inter-village roads.

According to the people's request, the contractor must roll the road surface, then spread a tarpaulin before pouring concrete, so although the contribution cost is higher, the people are willing to contribute. From the beginning of April until now, the commune has allocated the amount of cement, the hamlets have poured concrete there, so far the construction unit has poured nearly 200m of inter-commune road. After completing the 1.3km inter-commune road, it will be switched to intra-village road.

Mr. Bui Trong Long - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ma Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh) said: As of April 5, the locality has only received 130/1050 tons of cement provided by the province. Because the hamlets hired businesses to do the work, the progress was fast, so the amount of cement provided was used up as soon as it was available.

According to the report of Yen Thanh District People's Committee, up to now, 6/6 communes registered with the province to reach the NTM target in 2018 have received a quantity of cement according to the province's support policy to build roads. Most communes apply the method, the state supports 100% of cement, people contribute to buy sand, gravel... then hire businesses to do it, to speed up the progress and ensure the technique.

In the districts of Quynh Luu, Nghia Dan, Tan Ky... at this time, local people who registered to reach the NTM finish line are also eagerly starting to build NTM roads with the motto "The State and the people work together".

Mr. Nguyen Van Hang - Deputy Chief of the Office of the National Target Program for New Rural Development in the province, said: According to the province's support policy, each commune registered to reach the New Rural Development target will receive 1,050 tons of cement from the province to build 6 km of roads. From the end of March until now, all 27/27 communes of 13 districts registered to reach the New Rural Development target with the province have received the province's support of cement to build roads.

With the contribution of money and labor from the people, localities have implemented the construction of concrete roads during the favorable off-season. However, unlike before when localities mobilized people to build roads, the progress was slow, and the techniques were not guaranteed, so the road surface was bumpy in many places, now most of them hire businesses to pour concrete using mechanical means, so the construction progress is fast and the techniques are guaranteed./.
