Localities honor U23 Vietnam players

1. Welcoming, parading and honoring U23 Vietnam players in Nghe An

Nghe An people took to the streets to celebrate the runner-up achievement of U23 Vietnam.

On the evening of January 30, leaders of Nghe An province and many fans welcomed and honored Nghe An players and the Vietnam U23 team who won the runner-up prize at the U23 Asian Cup.

In the U23 Vietnam team that won the runner-up prize at the 2018 U23 Asian Cup, Nghe An has 4 players including Pham Xuan Manh and Phan Van Duc (from Yen Thanh district) currently playing for Song Lam Nghe An club; Nguyen Cong Phuong (from Do Luong district), currently playing for Hoang Anh Gia Lai club; reserve goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang (from Tan Ky district), currently playing for Saigon club.

At the ceremony, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong and Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh presented Certificates of Merit to players who had achievements at the U23 Asian Cup with the Vietnam U23 team.

2. Ha Tinh leaders met and rewarded central defender Bui Tien Dung

Ha Tinh leaders awarded a certificate of merit and 50 million VND to central defender Bui Tien Dung.

Center back Bui Tien Dung and his players created an earthquake for Vietnamese football, bringing glory and happiness to millions of fans. Notably, in the match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Iraq, Bui Tien Dung excellently kicked the final penalty, bringing a historic victory for the Vietnamese team in the quarter-finals.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dang Quoc Khanh, on behalf of the provincial leaders and Ha Tinh football fans, warmly congratulated and commended the efforts, attempts and excellent achievements of central defender Bui Tien Dung.

At the ceremony, central defender Bui Tien Dung expressed his deep gratitude for the attention of the province, industry, friends and family members. That attention has given him more strength to make more efforts, to try to overcome difficulties to achieve proud results. He promised to try his best to practice to continue playing for the Fatherland, worthy of being a son of his hometown Ha Tinh.

3. Phu Tho people welcome the playersDuc Chinh

On the morning of January 30, after making a miracle with U23 Vietnam at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, Ha Duc Chinh returned to his hometown in Phu Tho province. Here, the striker who is playing for SHB Da Nang was warmly welcomed. From early morning, thousands of fans flocked to Phu Tho Provincial Stadium to meet Ha Duc Chinh and ask for the signature of the striker wearing the number 13 shirt of U23 Vietnam.

Ha Duc Chinh felt extremely happy with the warm welcome from the leaders and people of Phu Tho province. Immediately afterwards, the striker born in 1997 sent his thanks to everyone on his personal Facebook page. Ha Duc Chinh wrote: "I thank all the provincial leaders, teachers and friends who have always accompanied and cheered for Chinh."

Ha Duc Chinh's thank you message attracted more than 27,000 likes and more than 500 shares after only 23 minutes of posting, along with thousands of comments congratulating the striker.

4. Thousands of people welcomed Tien Dung and Van Dai back to Thanh Hoa.

In the bustling atmosphere, the players' families and many fans wore banners and carried national flags to welcome the "hero" of their homeland.

On the afternoon of January 30, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province held a ceremony to welcome and honor three players from Thanh Hoa in the U23 Vietnam team, including goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung, his younger brother Bui Tien Dung and defender Le Van Dai.

Despite the temperature dropping below 10 degrees, thousands of fans from all over Thanh Hoa province flocked to Xay slope (Bim Son) to welcome the players. Fans wore red flags, headbands, beat drums, and cheered enthusiastically.

Three Thanh Hoa players were honored, including two brothers: goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung (born in 1997), midfielder Bui Tien Dung (born in 1998) and defender Le Van Dai (born in 1996). Goalkeeper Tien Dung and Le Van Dai are playing for FLC Thanh Hoa; while Tien Dung is playing for SHB Da Nang.

5. Tuyen Quang: Honoring two U23 Vietnam players who brought glory to their home province

On the evening of January 30, two players Luong Xuan Truong and Nguyen Thanh Chung, who participated in the U23 Vietnam team, were directly welcomed by the leaders of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee, their families and thousands of fans, paraded and honored around Tuyen Quang city.

After offering incense and reporting their achievements at President Ho Chi Minh Temple, the two players attended the honoring ceremony at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Tuyen Quang City).

Vice Chairman of the province Nguyen Hai Anh praised the achievements of the Vietnam U23 team and the two Tuyen Quang players. He thanked the players' families, the Vietnam U23 team's coaching staff, the clubs and units that trained and coached the players.

After his contributions to the U23 Vietnam team at the Asian Cup, Xuan Truong is currently a name that receives special attention from the public. In his hometown Tuyen Quang, people are very happy and proud to welcome the "hero" back.

6. Quang Tri awarded Certificates of Merit to honor players of the Vietnam U23 team

On January 31, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province issued a decision to award a Certificate of Merit to U23 Vietnam player Truong Van Thai Quy. Accordingly, the player from Quang Tri province was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and a bonus of 5 million VND.

It is known that Truong Van Thai Quy is a pillar, contributing to the U20 Vietnam team winning a ticket to the World Cup. Thai Quy plays for Hanoi FC and coach Park Hang-seo has called this player to the U23 Vietnam team to participate in the U23 Asian tournament.

On January 31, relatives and fans were present at Phu Bai airport (Thua Thien-Hue province) to welcome midfielder Truong Van Thai Quy back to his hometown Quang Tri.

7. Hai Duong honors 4 U23 Vietnam players

4 players from Hai Duong: Vu Van Thanh, Nguyen Van Toan, Pham Duc Huy and Nguyen Trong Dai.

Tonight (February 1), the People's Committee of Hai Duong province will hold a meeting and exchange ceremony with the U23 Vietnam players from Hai Duong at the provincial Sports Gymnasium. The program will be broadcast live on Hai Duong Radio and Television from 8:00 p.m.

The 4 U23 Vietnam players from Hai Duong are: Vu Van Thanh (Tu Cuong commune, Thanh Mien district), Nguyen Van Toan (Thach Khoi ward, Hai Duong city), Pham Duc Huy (Doan Tung commune, Thanh Mien district) and Nguyen Trong Dai (Cam Dien commune, Cam Giang district).

At the program, Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee will present certificates of merit, and departments and sponsors will award these players. The audience will have the opportunity to interact with the players and their relatives.

Before this meeting, all the players had returned home and had exchange activities in their hometowns. On the afternoon of January 31, Van Thanh had a meeting and exchange with the staff, teachers and nearly 900 students of Tu Cuong Primary School (Thanh Mien), where Van Thanh attended primary school.

8. Hanoi City People's Committee rewards U23 Vietnam players

Leaders of Hanoi People's Committee met with U23 Vietnam players on the afternoon of January 30.

On the afternoon of January 30, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung held a meeting and celebration for Hanoi football players who were in the Vietnam U23 team participating in the recent 2018 U23 Asian Cup.

At the meeting, the Hanoi football players who were encouraged and congratulated by Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung for winning the runner-up position with the Vietnam U23 team at the 2018 U23 Asian Cup were Nguyen Quang Hai, Do Duy Manh, Doan Van Hau, Nguyen Thanh Chung, Pham Duc Huy, Truong Van Thai Quy (of Hanoi Club) and Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Trong Dai (of Viettel Club).
