Activities for the poor in Quy Chau and Nghi Loc

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 27 and 28, many activities aimed at flood victims and the poor were carried out in Quy Chau and Nghi Loc.

*On October 27, the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Dien Chau district came to give gifts to support people affected by recent floods in Chau Hoi commune, Quy Chau district.

The flash flood that passed through Chau Hoi commune on September 14 left one person missing, seven houses completely collapsed, 151 houses flooded, of which 61 had to be relocated. The floodwaters also buried 523 hectares of rice and crops, severely damaged seven spillways... the initial damage was estimated at over 100 billion VND. After the flood, the lives of the people here faced many difficulties.

Representatives of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Dien Chau district presented gifts to people of Don village.

To join hands to support the people here, the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Dien Chau district has presented 50 gifts, each worth 400 thousand VND. This amount was supported by businesses in Dien Chau such as: Hoang Son, Tam Tri Manh, Hop Tien, Hong Kim Soa, Thanh Chuong... and small traders in Dien Chau district, with the aim of supporting the people to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

* As part of the activities to celebrate the 86th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's traditional day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2016), on October 27 and 28, 2016, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghi Loc district organized the handover of 3 Great Unity houses to the family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Giap - Dong hamlet, Nghi Thiet commune, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Do, Hoa Dong hamlet, Nghi Hoa commune and Mrs. Vo Thi Hien, hamlet 1, Nghi Thuan commune.

The Fatherland Front Committee of Nghi Loc district awarded 20 million VND to build a house for Ms. Nguyen Thi Giap, Nghi Thiet commune.

With the support of the “For the Poor” fund, local Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front, and organizations have mobilized to build Great Unity houses for poor households. Of which, the district “For the Poor” fund supports each family with 20 million VND, the commune’s “For the Poor” fund supports each family with 3 million VND, and the rest is supported by relatives and neighbors with money and working days.

It is known that in 2016, Nghi Loc district has handed over 9 Great Solidarity houses and gratitude houses to poor households in the district./.
