"An important meeting between G7 foreign ministers and Ukraine. Our position is clear: President Putin must face defeat and Ukraine's sovereignty will be restored. We agree to continue to provide defensive equipment and weapons to Ukraine," Truss wrote on Twitter.
The sides also agreed to increase sanctions aimed at damaging the Russian economy.
"The G7 will take further steps if Russia does not end its offensive war against Ukraine. The ministers stressed that they do not recognise any change in the status quo resulting from Russia's military aggression," the statement said.
The Ministers, in talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, discussed further steps to support Ukraine, including cybersecurity and the fight against disinformation. They agreed to provide humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people, noting the need to respect the Humanitarian Law and ensure that aid reaches the population.
"Russia will be held responsible for all the destruction that its military actions will cause to the country of Ukraine, its people, as well as to international organizations there and their assets," the ministers added.
They once again called on the Russian Federation to end military operations and withdraw its troops from Ukraine.
