How to adjust car mirrors to avoid blind spots
Adjusting a car's rearview mirror is not difficult, but if not adjusted properly, it can be dangerous.
1. Adjust the interior rearview mirror
For the inside rearview mirror, you just need to adjust it so that you can see the entire windshield space behind the car with just a glance, without having to lean over or turn your head to look over your shoulder. In addition, to have a wider and easier viewing angle, you should equip your car with a large mirror.

2. Adjust the outside rearview mirror
For the side mirrors, the adjustment is more complicated than the center mirror. To adjust the side mirrors effectively, there are 2 common ways to set the mirrors:
Method 1: Adjust the mirror to have a narrow viewing angle
Up-down (horizontal axis): adjust so that you can see half of the front door handle on the lower edge of the mirror.
Inward and outward rotation (vertical axis): the driver should adjust so that the image of the side of the car occupies about 1/4 of the width of the mirror. The remaining 3/4 is the image next to the side of the car so that the driver can observe.
The advantage of this method is that the driver can observe the side of the car and the vehicles behind through the two outside mirrors.
The disadvantage of this method is that it wastes space, some places overlap, some places are narrow. That is, the viewing area of the middle rearview mirror overlaps with the viewing area of the two side mirrors. Meanwhile, the side viewing angle on the two side mirrors is reduced, increasing the space of the blind spot.

Method 2: Adjust the mirror to have a wide viewing angle
With this adjustment, the driver, when sitting upright in a normal position, can only see a small part of the rear side of the vehicle. This means that the opening angle must be wide enough to see vehicles approaching from both sides. However, the hidden part of the side mirrors can be seen in the middle mirror. Therefore, we do not have to worry about being blocked by the blind spot.
Adjusting the mirror to a wide angle helps to reduce the blind spot behind the car. However, this method has the disadvantage of being inconvenient when reversing.
To get a good view of the rear and sides of the car through the rearview mirror, drivers should balance both the narrow and wide angle mirror adjustment methods. In addition, adjust the seat to the most comfortable position before adjusting the mirror.
Above is the basic way to adjust the rearview mirror of a car for drivers. Hope this information will be useful.
