(Baonghean.vn) - From today (February 17), students in Nghe An province will enter the second break within a week to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic. In that context, online teaching is a solution proposed by schools to ensure that students' learning is not interrupted.

Previously, online learning was not too strange to many students, especially high school students, through online learning websites on the internet and depending on the economic conditions of each family.

However, for schools, this form is quite new and the number of schools that proactively make clips to teach students is not much. This is related to many different factors such as machine systems, people as well as the organization and compilation of teaching programs.

Online teaching and learning has only begun to be implemented more systematically by schools in the past two weeks after students across the province had to stay home to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic. This is also considered by schools as a practical solution in the situation where students do not go to school but teaching and reviewing lessons for students must still be maintained.

To prepare for online solutions, for nearly a week, teachers of Le Viet Thuat High School (Vinh City) have gathered at the school to both unify the review lessons and record video lectures for students. Currently, the school is focusing on reviewing for grade 12, so all subjects for final year students have been recorded, in which each subject has a review lesson. Particularly for Literature, Math and English, students have two lessons each. In grades 10 and 11, the school is prioritizing Literature, Math and English.

To get these clips, the school held a school-wide meeting and assigned specific tasks to 4 different professional groups: Group 1, prepares the content to assign teachers to organize teaching and review for students, and creates review questions to test and evaluate students. After students complete the exercises, teachers will grade them and the school will take this score into the regular test score.

The second group prepares the technical facilities so that after the lecture system and questions are available, they can be posted online for students in a timely manner. The third group is responsible for propaganda and is responsible for informing students of the school's policies and collecting information about students who have or do not have computers so that the school can find appropriate solutions to organize review sessions. The remaining group will do the "logistics" work, promptly motivating and encouraging teachers to complete their work.

Watching a recording session of teachers in the English group for grade 10, we can see that recording is not easy, especially when teachers are not familiar with standing in front of the camera. Teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - English teacher said: Normally, I stand on the podium quite fluently, but when standing in front of the camera, I am quite "nervous". Many parts we had to film many times to ensure that the class was not interrupted.

In the 12th grade Literature group – because there are two review lessons, the subject group must consider carefully before filming. In the first week, students will review two Literature lessons: The Picked-up Wife and A Phu's Husband and Wife. Teacher Pham Thi Thuan - homeroom teacher of class 12C4 said: For final year students, the long absence from school makes not only the students but also teachers and parents very worried, especially afraid that their studies will be interrupted. However, through online lectures, we can still update the content for students and will give out exercises and grade papers as usual.

To implement online teaching, Le Viet Thuat High School has also considered choosing software so that students can use it on both computers and mobile phones. Teacher Phan Xuan Phan - Principal of the school added: Organizing online lessons is quite a feat, but I believe that the implementation with the full participation of professional groups and careful discussion will bring practical results for students.

The school also feels somewhat reassured to help students not neglect their studies. Through online lessons, teachers can also interact with students to promptly answer their questions.

This is the second week that students in Nghe An province have had to stay home from school to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

However, to ensure that students’ learning is not interrupted, over the past week, schools have directed homeroom teachers and subject teachers to prepare review lessons for students. Many schools have also proactively provided review content and guided students to self-study through systems such as the E-Learning System, the school’s website, email address, Zalo, Facebook, facetime, etc.

As a homeroom teacher for senior students, Mr. To Hoai Son - homeroom teacher of class 12A9 at Huynh Thuc Khang High School, has updated a free software on the internet, created online classes, and assigned exercises and tests for students every day.

In this software, the teacher also updates the self-scoring software and will automatically report scores to students and parents, so students take their studies very seriously. In addition, the teacher also livestreams online to interact with students and answer difficult questions.

Talking about this method, teacher To Hoai Son said: In the current situation, I find this solution quite effective and students quite interested. Our online class has 100% student participation and we can still communicate with each other like in a normal class.

Because the school break may be extended, at this time, the Department of Education and Training also requires schools to continue reviewing and supplementing plans to guide students in self-study during the school break in accordance with the conditions of the school and each region.

In particular, in order for learning to be implemented effectively, the Department requires that review content for students must be unified by professional groups and built systematically according to each lesson, topic or learning task for students to perform daily and weekly, ensuring appropriate duration when students study at home and closely following the program distribution as prescribed.
