Replace the pump with an empty fuel tank and put it back in the car. Fill the tank with clean fuel. Remove the ignition wires or disconnect the turbocharger. Then, disconnect the fuel line from the engine and remove the injectors. Remove the spark plug. Clean the fuel line with a solvent such as mineral spirits or toluene. Reconnect the battery and turn the key on. Finally, collect the liquid that flows from the fuel line to the engine and leave the car in this state for a while to let the water inside the engine evaporate.
