Isolating a male student from FPT University who returned to Nghe An without declaring his fever

On the afternoon of February 4, the Nghe An Province Center for Disease Control announced that the unit had just taken a Covid-19 test sample from a 20-year-old male student (residing in Quynh Thien Ward, Hoang Mai Town), who had symptoms of respiratory tract infection. The test results are expected to be available by the afternoon of February 4.

According to this person's statement, he is a student ofFPT University,My Dinh facility. Staying at lane 85 Xuan Thuy, Cau Giay, Hanoi with a friend from Quang Ninh.

On the evening of January 31, the male student drove his motorbike home to celebrate Tet but did not declare his health status to the local authorities. After returning home, the male student met many people and did not wear a mask. Specifically, from February 1 to February 3, he delivered goods to his mother in the Quynh Loc, Quynh Vinh, and Quynh Thien areas, and came into contact with about 12 people.

Around 9pm on 2/2, I went to a cafe with 2 friends in Quynh Phuong (don't remember the name of the shop) and went to a neighbor's house to drink tea. On the afternoon of 2/3, I went to Quynh Phuong beach to play.

By the evening of the same day, the male student had a fever of 39 degrees, headache, runny nose, sore throat, muscle aches, mild difficulty breathing... His family took him to Quynh Lap Central Hospital for examination and he was immediately quarantined there.

Currently, 8 cases of close contact with this male student have been identified and required to quarantine at home. Hoang Mai town medical center is still coordinating with the police to trace the remaining close contacts. The house as well as the places the male student has been to have been sprayed with disinfectant chemicals.

According to Mr. Pham Dinh Du - Deputy Director of the Center for Disease Control of Nghe An province, although he also studied at FPT University, the male student studied at the My Dinh campus. Meanwhile, Covid-19 cases appeared at FPT University Hoa Lac campus. The place where the male student was staying was not under lockdown. Therefore, this person returning to his hometown was not subject to centralized quarantine. However, according to regulations, any citizen returning to Nghe An from any locality must make a mandatory health declaration.
