Japanese way of finger massage to reduce stress
In just over 5 minutes a day, you can take control of negative emotions.
A busy and rushed life often makes you stressed, which affects your health. Bright Side introduces a Japanese self-massage technique that helps you control your emotions better. What's special is that you can do this exercise anywhere and in just over 5 minutes.
Each finger represents a different emotion. Before performing the massage, you need to understand their meaning:
- Thumb: Related to anxiety;
- Index finger: Can help reduce feelings of fear;
- Middle finger: Helps control anger;
- Ring finger: Helps fight sadness and become more decisive;
- Little finger: Helps reassure yourself and increase confidence and self-esteem.

To regulate the energy in your body, use one hand to hold each finger of the opposite hand and hold it there for about 1-2 minutes. You will feel a slight vibration at the tip of your fingers.
To help calm the mind, use the thumb of your opposite hand to apply light pressure to the center of your palm and hold for at least a minute.
Practice these techniques every day to stay calm and reestablish balance within yourself.
