Camera records 2 'female monsters' robbing a series of gold shops

From security camera footage of two women stealing gold in Binh Duong, police tracked down a group of inter-provincial jewelry thieves.

On October 17, Binh Duong police prosecuted and arrested Pham Thi Khanh Van (27 years old) and Vo Thi Thu (28 years old, both living in Ho Chi Minh City) for theft of property.

Before that, Van and Thu went to a gold shop in Di An town to buy jewelry. Thinking it was real, the staff brought out a series of necklaces from the display case for customers to choose from.

Later, seeing the staff struggling with other customers in the store, the two "female monsters" stole more than 50 gold necklaces, worth more than 200 million VND, put them in their bags and escaped.

Their entire actions were recorded by the store's camera. The police investigated and searched for many days before arresting the two thieves.

At the suspects' residence, authorities discovered 160 gold necklaces of various types (about 10 taels of gold) believed to be evidence from other cases.

Working with the police, Van admitted that in a similar manner, in addition to Binh Duong, both of them and their accomplices had committed 8 robberies at gold shops in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai with property worth nearly one billion VND.

Van's group sold all the stolen gold to Ms. Pham Thi Nga (46 years old), owner of a gold shop in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City, and then divided the money to spend.

Binh Duong police also detained Ms. Nga for the crime of receiving property obtained by others through criminal acts; at the same time, they are searching for the group's accomplices.
