We need to make it so that bad and toxic information has no "place to live".

On the sidelines of the 12th National Congress of the Party, Mr. Nguyen Bac Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications took time to talk with the press.

- Could you please tell us your feelings when participating in the opening session of the 12th National Party Congress?

Comrade Nguyen Bac Son: It can be said that the 12th National Party Congress is the expectation of our entire Party, people and army. Because we know that, in the process of construction and development over the past 85 years, our Party has successfully completed its historical mission as the leader of society, leading our country to gain national independence and build and develop a strong and prosperous country like today. That is why our people and our country call the Communist Party of Vietnam our Party and therefore not only this Congress but all Party Congresses are highly anticipated by the people of the whole country.

Today, we witnessed a very solemn opening ceremony at the National Convention Center. Today, it is certain that the people of the whole country will be satisfied with the initial results of the Congress in the opening session, all 1,510 delegates with joyful faces, full of responsibility, contributed to the success of the Congress.

I believe that the contents presented at the opening session, especially the speech of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, summarize all the documents presented at the Congress, that is, the political report and the socio-economic report.

The General Secretary presented in 26 pages, clearly stating the contents, successes and results achieved in the past term and especially clearly stating the new requirements, tasks and key tasks in the coming term.

We believe that through the important speech of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the people of the whole country will have more confidence in the leadership of the Party and the future of the country. The results of the opening session reflect the will of the entire Party and people and entrust the 1,510 delegates to contribute to the success of the Congress.

-In the opening speech, the General Secretary emphasized the work of Party building, especially mentioning the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (11th Term) on Party building. What are your wishes for Party building work in the coming time?

Comrade Nguyen Bac Son: It can be said that the Report of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong presented at this opening session is a very important Report, which raises many challenges and successes in the past term and also puts forward many requirements and tasks in the new term. In particular, the General Secretary emphasized that we continue to implement the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (11th Term) on Party building, that is, we continue to persevere and resolutely implement the contents of the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee, especially implementing the 3 key contents set forth in the Resolution, to build our Party increasingly clean and strong.

Party building is a very important task to ensure that our Party is always clean and strong, capable of leading the whole society. In recent times, our Party has successfully carried out this mission because the Party has always paid attention to building and rectifying the Party according to the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh. In addition, we have Resolution No. 12, the 4th Central Conference of the 11th tenure, which further emphasized that Party building and rectification is an urgent task in the current situation. Therefore, this issue was continued to be mentioned in the opening session.

We believe that under the leadership of the 12th Party Central Committee, we will continue to do better and do our best in the parts of the 11th Party Resolution that have not been done, contributing to making our Party increasingly clean and strong, worthy of the people's trust.

-Many opinions say that to build a better Party, there needs to be a mechanism to control power. What is your opinion on this issue?

Comrade Nguyen Bac Son: The Communist Party of Vietnam operates according to the Constitution and the law. Of course, the Party must operate according to the Charter of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which clearly states that the Party's goal is to strive for the benefit of the people, under the management of the State, the control of the people, that is, to control power, including the power of the Party. The content of the Party's political reports all emphasize this issue. Thus, the Party is the leader of the country, the leader of society. But conversely, the Party is also the one who serves the interests of the people, for the people, the people's orders are the highest. The people will be the ones to supervise the Party's activities.

The Party's leadership is expressed through the leadership of society and is expressed through the activities of the Government and the activities of the National Assembly, all of which have supervisory mechanisms such as the democratic regulations at the grassroots level, or we have the mechanism of state inspection, people's inspection is also a supervisory activity of state agencies under the leadership of the Party. Thus, there are many mechanisms for the people to exercise their supervisory rights with the motto of people know, people discuss, people do, people inspect. It can be said that our Party, in our society, has put forward quite complete supervisory mechanisms, only in some places, somewhere it has not been done well. I hope that we will further thoroughly understand the Party's platforms and guidelines, including thoroughly understanding this supervisory mechanism better in the coming time.

- On the eve of the Party Congress, there has been a lot of distorted and defamatory information about a number of related issues. In addition to refuting such information, there are opinions that we need to be more open and transparent, and provide more timely official information to reduce and repel such types of information. What is your opinion on this?

Comrade Nguyen Bac Son: We see that, not only in this Congress but also in all the Congresses and major political activities of the country, besides the response of the people, of the whole country towards the holidays, major anniversaries, and important events of the country, our people very much agree, support, and contribute to the success of these events. But besides that, we cannot avoid the activities of hostile forces, increasing sabotage of our country.

In particular, the Party Congress is a very important and great political event of the country. Therefore, recently, we have witnessed a number of wrongful activities on the Internet environment as well as in social life, inciting internal divisions within us, carrying out the intention of sabotaging the Communist Party of Vietnam, undermining the Party's leadership, and dividing the people's trust in the Party.

Recently, the press agencies have promptly had strong voices to refute those false arguments, contributing to propaganda, encouraging people to always be vigilant, creating resistance for people against false arguments.

I suggest that the press contribute to more vigorous propaganda, not only propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, but we must also be responsible and have arguments to fight against the false arguments of hostile forces. Along with that, State agencies must strictly implement the regulations on information provision and spokesperson regulations so that we can promptly and officially inform the fastest information of State agencies, socio-political organizations and activities of localities, using official information to push back negative information, making bad and toxic information have no "place to live"./.
