Recently, the Steering Committee for Border Marker Planting has coordinated and requested the Vietnam - Laos National Border Committee to direct the strengthening of propaganda work and ideological settlement for cadres and people of Pung Vai hamlet cluster (Muong Quan district, Hua Phan, Laos) to strictly comply with the Agreement on Vietnam - Laos Border Marker Management Regulations; at the same time, support the reconstruction of national border marker 390 at the old location (My Ly commune, Ky Son district).

The Steering Committee also coordinated with the authorities of the two provinces to establish a bilateral working group, organize field surveys, prepare, appraise, and approve technical design documents and estimates for the reconstruction of landmark 390; at the same time, propose the Ministry of Construction to direct the design, production, and handover of the landmark body...
According to the Steering Committee, recently, some border markers have been damaged by floods or buried by rocks and soil. Meanwhile, the border patrol road has also been affected by floods and landslides at 38 points. Of these, 10 are large landslides that make it impossible for vehicles to pass.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Le Xuan Dai identified a number of key tasks in the coming time, such as coordinating with Hua Phan province to advise the authorities of the two provinces to hold a meeting to agree on the organization and implementation of rebuilding landmark 390 at the old location under the direction of the Vietnam - Laos National Border Committee; coordinating with relevant units to promptly direct the repair of landmarks that have been washed away or seriously eroded, etc.
