The first days of the new year are always an important time for seaports. Transport ships operating at the port during this time are often considered "lucky ships". At Nghe Tinh Port, when the ship's horn sounds loudly and the first containers are loaded onto the ship, leaders, officers and employees solemnly hold a ceremony to welcome the first shipments of the new year, sending their hopes for a favorable year.

After a long period of facing many difficulties in both transportation and production, business activities have become vibrant again. The international container route at Cua Lo Port has been actively operating to transport goods directly, creating favorable conditions for Nghe Tinh Port Joint Stock Company.

At the port, Mr. Yen Van Phuc - Acting Director of Cua Lo Port just presented flowers to congratulate an international ship and said: Preparations for all aspects to welcome customers at the beginning of the new year, in addition to super-sized and super-heavy equipment, the port added 2 cranes each with a lifting capacity of 30 tons right in the first days of the year, the warehouse system was upgraded and spacious, especially, the shipping channel was dredged to a depth of 7.2m to facilitate 15,000-ton fully loaded ships and 25,000-ton lightly loaded ships to enter the port smoothly. Ships entering and leaving the port with a bustling atmosphere is a sign of prosperity for a new year of the unit.

At the port, super-heavy cranes are operating at full capacity, neatly loading and unloading containers onto large-tonnage ships: the Nasico Navigator, with a capacity of 7,378 tons, arrived at the port to load and unload 470 containers; the SeaBlazer, with a capacity of 6,066 tons, unloaded 2,225 tons of tuna; the Minh Tan 36, with a capacity of 3,685 tons, unloaded 2,000 tons of soybean dregs; the Ngoc Lan 19, with a capacity of 3,184 tons, loaded 1,700 tons of cassava starch; the Diem Dien 99, with a capacity of 3,000 tons, unloaded 2,300 tons of bagged Urea...

Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Hien - Director of Tin Hoang Mineral Company in Nghe An, said: "In recent years, Cua Lo Port has had many innovations, the wharf is cleaner, the bulk cargo yard is covered with tarpaulin to avoid and limit dust emission when loading and unloading, the machinery is well invested so the loading and unloading of goods is faster. Many times the Port arranges overtime, even adding night shifts to facilitate our business"...

To reduce costs and increase loading and unloading time, the Port has applied technical advances and digital technology to production; that is: Improving fuel management processes, investing in office equipment management software, and improving Nghe Tinh Port Electronic Information Portal.

In addition, regulations and production processes are innovated, many initiatives are applied such as design of concrete clamps for dividing strips, electronic shift boards, asset management software, etc.

The Company's vehicles and equipment are invested and supplemented to meet the requirements of cargo handling. The port has also successfully deployed the cargo registration application (E-port) on the software to facilitate customers. Integrating the E-port software on the Company's website to create more convenience for customers.

Nghe Tinh Port is ready to record customer opinions on all information channels to absorb and make changes when customers are not satisfied. In the indirect department, electronic boards, electronic document software, salary software, etc. have been applied to facilitate management.
Outside the port, dust control work is better implemented, surrounding the fence near the residential area of ​​the rear yard of wharfs 1 and 2 and a misting system to create humidity to limit dust dispersion. At Cua Lo Loading and Unloading Enterprise - one of the two main units of Nghe Tinh Port Joint Stock Company - many advanced loading and unloading equipment, modern warehouse systems meet international integration.

Having worked at Cua Lo Port for more than 10 years, Mr. Nguyen Tien Huy - a technical staff as well as other engineers and staff have been passionate about researching technical improvements to support the loading, unloading, delivery and receipt of goods more conveniently and safely.

Mr. Huy said that through the process of observing and working, he had the initiative to make a 11.6m crane, used to handle iron ore and boulders, and to lift a maximum of 32 tons/1 time. Along with that is the invention of a roll crane arm used to connect with a 20-ton fabric cable that can handle loads of 20 - 30 tons, helping to reduce the time to lift 1 item by half compared to the old method...

The year 2024 has passed, a new year 2025 is forecasted to have many difficulties, but with the spirit of adaptation and improving competitiveness, the staff and employees of Nghe Tinh Port are happy to still retain many traditional customers and have new customers. The volume of goods passing through the Port, revenue and profit of Nghe Tinh Port Joint Stock Company remain stable, creating jobs and income for nearly 400 staff and employees.

In 2024, Nghe Tinh Port Joint Stock Company achieved many achievements in production and operation: Cargo output reached 4.3 million tons, reaching 100.39% of the annual plan. Some items through the Port grew such as: fertilizers of all kinds with output reaching 1 million tons, up 33.32% compared to 2023; agricultural products with output reaching 200,000 tons, up 75.75% over the same period in 2023. Revenue from production and business activities reached over 200 billion VND, reaching 103.87% of the annual plan; fully completing budget payments to the State as prescribed, pre-tax profit is estimated at 20.7 billion VND, reaching 103.80% of the annual plan.
