On the coastal route Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) - Cua Lo (Nghe An), there are large and small bridges spanning across river mouths and creeks, connecting coastal communities that have long been separated by river terrain.

The coastal route Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) - Cua Lo (Nghe An) from Km7 to Km76 is one of the key traffic projects that is expected to create a development boost for the North Central region. With a total investment of more than 4,651 billion VND, the route is designed according to the level III plain standards, with a 12m wide roadbed and 11m wide road surface, ensuring traffic safety and being suitable for the characteristics of the coastal terrain.

Along the entire route, there are 8 bridges crossing rivers and estuaries, including 5 large bridges such as Hoang Mai, Lach Quen, Cua Thoi, Lach Van, Nghi Quang and 3 small bridges Tan Long, Nha Le canal, Nghi Tan - not only are traffic connection works but also create landscape highlights for the coastal strip.

Construction started in February 2022 and the project is expected to be completed in early 2026. Once completed, the route will be a seamless connecting corridor between the coastal economic and service centers of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An; linking Vissai international seaport, Cua Lo seaport, DKC port and a chain of rapidly developing coastal tourist areas. This is not only a new economic driving force, but also contributes to strengthening the national defense and security posture on the sea; expanding urban space, creating an attractive landscape axis to promote coastal tourism. The completed route will open up new opportunities for investment, trade and sustainable development of Nghe An coastal areas.
