(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, the hotline of Vietnam Social Security (VSS) has received information from a number of people about receiving phone calls from strangers with the following numbers: 0555..., 8009... claiming to be from the VSS agency.
These subjects inform people that they have gone to see a doctor or received medical treatment using their health insurance card but have not paid for the medical examination and treatment, or inform people that they have taken advantage of medical examination and treatment fees from the health insurance fund... Then, they ask people to provide their personal information and pay a sum of money (through their account) to pay for the cost of health insurance examination and treatment or to refund the money they have taken advantage of from the health insurance fund. Otherwise, the social insurance agency will report to the police to investigate, deduct money from people's bank accounts, and cut off people's right to use their health insurance cards...
Regarding the above incident, Vietnam Social Security warns: The act of a person claiming to be from the Social Security agency calling people to inform them of the above contents is a scam. Currently, the Social Security agency does not implement any form of direct phone calls to people to inform them that they have gone to see a doctor or received medical treatment using their health insurance card or that they have taken advantage of the health insurance fund's money as some people have reported above.

Vietnam Social Security is gathering phone numbers claiming to be from the Social Security agency with the above fraudulent behavior according to people's reflections to transfer to the Ministry of Public Security and request the Ministry of Public Security to coordinate in the investigation and handle strictly according to the provisions of law.
Vietnam Social Security recommends that people need to be vigilant when receiving strange phone calls, claiming to be from the Social Security agency; absolutely do not carry out any requests of the subjects, especially do not transfer money or provide personal information to strangers over the phone.
In case of receiving such calls, you should immediately report to the police for handling, or notify the hotline number of Vietnam Social Security 1900.9068 for timely advice, support and answers.
