Beware of promoting 'color revolution'
On the media and social networks, many images of armed conflicts in Myanmar and protests and riots in Bangladesh and Venezuela have appeared. Taking advantage of this issue, hostile forces and reactionary exiles have spread distorted information, inciting ignorant people to carry out a plot of “color revolution” in Vietnam.

Plot to incite “color revolution”
“Color revolution” is a term used to refer to organized political violence, unarmed coups in a sovereign country aimed at overthrowing the incumbent state, causing political crisis by non-violent means, with a combination of domestic instigators and external forces, through the so-called “raising the flag of democracy”, attracting people to march, protest, riot and overthrow.
If in the past, the target was socialist countries, now the "color revolution" is also taking place in countries that tend to be unfriendly to the US and the West. Therefore, in the late 20th century and early 21st century, the world witnessed a series of "color revolutions" breaking out in countries with pluralistic, multi-party political systems in the Middle East and North Africa or Eastern Europe such as Georgia, Ukraine... leading to those countries falling into a state of political instability and the consequences of which still last until now.
Recently, information and images of protests and riots in Venezuela, Bangladesh and especially Myanmar. At the same time, from anti-government protests to armed and ethnic conflicts. Hostile forces take advantage of social networks, through platforms such as Facebook, Telegram, YouTube... to carry out plots to lure people of various countries to join the "color revolution crowd".
Hostile forces, exiled reactionary organizations, and opposition groups have thoroughly exploited social networks to distort information and steer public opinion toward other purposes.
Through the forms of thematic commentary and discussion, they incorporate the intention of distorting, fabricating, and distorting history, defaming the national leader and the leadership role of the Party, and plotting to incite riots and protests in Vietnam. Pages such as Viet Tan or New Horizon Media juggle with the likes of “Will Vietnam be like Venezuela”; “Congratulations to the people of Bangladesh for changing the dictatorship, when will Vietnam come”…

Hostile forces thoroughly exploit cyberspace to propagate and incite people to advocate for changes in the foundation of society. Using the guise of civil rights and democracy, they call on readers to carry out a “color revolution”, first of all an “online color revolution”. They take advantage of hot issues in social life such as environmental pollution, land disputes, and sovereignty over islands to attack and defame the socialist regime that Vietnam is building. From there, they call for change to follow the democratic model of the US and the West…
Need to be highly vigilant, especially the young generation
It is easy to see that in the “color revolutions” that have occurred, the role of the young generation, students, and pupils is quite large. The leaders have incited the psychology of wanting to express themselves, wanting to become an inspiration of this age group to attract and exploit them.
Of course, in countries where “color revolutions” have occurred, there is no benefit to be seen, but for decades, those countries are still immersed in conflict and prolonged instability. Because the purpose of those who carry out “color revolutions” is to make that country unstable to serve their own interests, regardless of history, ethnicity, or the freedom and happiness of the people.
Most of the riots and overthrows are reckless and uncontrolled. From there, big countries seek to get involved with their own political schemes, serving their own interests. Along with that, the thorough exploitation of media and social networks to sabotage makes the situation increasingly out of control...

In Vietnam, in recent times, some reactionary organizations have often disguised themselves as “democracy”, “human rights”, “civil society” to call for and collude with forces to carry out plans to sabotage the Party and the State. Their actions have had a negative impact on the political and social life of our country, affecting security and order. These organizations seek to connect and select a number of domestic youth to send abroad for training, but in reality, their purpose is to gather forces, incite riots and protests in the country, and build opposition political organizations.
They infiltrate student and youth groups to post articles and images distorting the situation in Vietnam. From there, they kindle and nurture the idea of “making a revolution” and “being a leader”. In particular, through closed groups on Telegram and Facebook, they instill the “American dream” and glamorous images of the upper-class and happy society abroad. This is one of the very dangerous forms of sabotage that every parent and student needs to be highly vigilant of.
Authorities need to pay more attention to propaganda work with students, young people, and intellectuals. Political and social organizations such as the Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Vietnam Student Association, etc. need to step up education, propaganda, and warning work so that young people and students clearly understand the plot and nature of the “color revolution”, stay away from organizations disguised as civil society, movements that pretend to be “patriotic”, but in fact call for gatherings and disrupting security and order. In particular, be highly vigilant against scholarships disguised as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or disguised civil organizations.

At the same time, establish useful forums on social networks with many diverse forms to attract the participation of the young community. In those forums, it is necessary to regularly provide plots and tricks of the "peaceful evolution" strategy so that the young generation can identify and be vigilant.
Along with that, promote propaganda about historical values and national pride, so that every Vietnamese person, especially the young generation of Vietnam today, understands the great value of the national liberation revolutions and the cause of innovation. That is also the basis for the youth not to be confused or delusional by theories calling for street revolution, non-violent resistance, inciting struggles to overthrow the regime that the enemy claims "for a better future". Thereby, "create resistance" for the young generation and the people against distorted, untrue, and provocative information from opposing organizations and subjects.
