Police officer involved in Floyd's death released on bail
Thomas Lane, one of four police officers involved in the death of George Floyd, was released on June 10 after posting $750,000 bail.
According to jail records, 37-year-old police officer Thomas Lane left the Hennepin County Jail in Minnesota at around 4 p.m. Lane is scheduled to appear in court again on June 29.
Lane's attorney, Earl Gray, previously said his client tried to save Floyd by rushing into the ambulance and attempting to perform CPR on the black man. Gray added that Lane also did not agree with Officer Derek Chauvin's actions, but did not dare to protest because he had only been on the force for four days, while Chauvin had been with the Minneapolis Police Department for nearly 19 years.

Chauvin, 44, is charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter, which he said was an impulsive, unpremeditated and unplanned act, after he knelt on Floyd's neck for about nine minutes.
Lane and two other former police officers, Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng, were arrested last week and charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder. They each face up to 40 years in prison.
Thao, 34, and Kueng, 26, remained in custody on June 10 on unconditional bail of $1 million each or $750,000 each with conditions.
Floyd's death has sparked protests across the United States demanding justice for the black community and against police brutality. The Minneapolis City Council is considering defunding and dismantling the police department.
